It takes more than 1 real world title fight to be considered a world class respected referee.
If you count the WBO, then it's 2. Still not enough.
If you count the WBU, well, you're just insane;)
Micky Vann's done well over 100 world title fights so I think he can be considered world class, although he is pretty eccentric.
i think its unfair to say vann is bias hes a world class respected ref

tszyu will not get robbed
Why?
Because he is gonna knock Hatton into retirement!!!
Getting beat by one of the best pound 4 pound fighters would be a great reason to retire
Anyone who fights Tszyu has a chance of getting KO'd early, it wouldnt mean Hatton wasnt able to mix with elite fighters, it would just mean Hatton(like many others) couldnt take Tszyu's best shots.
IMO Hatton at least will give a very good account of himself.
Has it been confirmed that this Vann guy is the ref? I don't know much about him so I can't comment, but is this all speculation or has he been named as the ref?
Trouble begins when a ref's style fits the style of one fighter more than the other. Sure the ref is not be biased, because he'll weigh each fighter's actions by the same standard, but if that standard gives one fighter an advantage, it's called bias. That can happen when Hatton and Vann are in the same ring.
In fact, I'd say Ricky stands to benefit from any Vann-like ref, as opposed to a refs like Cortez or Bayless who often stop fighters from what they call "silliness".
if vann's style of refereing stopped hatton being rough it would benefit the opponent and therefore be bias on that account. if referees styles were to be scrutinised before every fight in order to find a ref whose style favoured niether of the fighters it wud b imposible. vann has only appeared in alot of hatton fights due to availability and has never been accused of being biased.zoo quite a rugged fighter himself and i do not feel that the fact that vann maybe the referee will have a detrimental effect on the fight in favour of either fighter.
The excuses are allready coming in.....lmao.Correct........wait until after Kostya has been beaten, and then they can make excuses. There's still plenty time before this fight happens for Zoo to pick up a phantom injury.
Hatton's Style Fits Vann's Style = Bias
i think its unfair to say vann is bias hes a world class respected ref ,he is known for letting fighter be rough

From what I've seen, and I've seen about a dozen Hatton/Vann fights, Vann is known for letting Hatton be rough. He's not so forgiving with the opponents.
I've never seen any bias from Vann, there have been a couple of times when Vann let the opponent try to rough Hatton up(especially the Magee fight).
I just dont think it matters that much anyway, Vann's still a good ref and i dont see any problems if he does the fight. Boxings a rough sport so its to be expected.
I look ofrward to this fight. I think KT will win, but Hatton has the ability to make it a great fight. Hatton's style if fun to watch and I think he will give KT a better run for his money than most think. But ultimately, KT's vast experience in top level fights will start to show and wear out the tough Hatton. I will finally give Hatton the credit he deserves. But I think KT will win in a good fight. If its by KO it will be late...I think Hatton can take him into the deep rounds.
I wouldn't watch Hatton if I didn't find him exciting, but I think he's biting off more than he can chew here.
I can't understand the level of hatred he gets on here because he is good to watch and the other guys are all as guilty of fighting lower level opposition than they should recently.
I'm not convinced KT is still in his prime which is why I'm taking Hatton to beat him. His level of competition isn't significantly better than Hatton's or the other top guys over the last 5 years so he's not really been tested in this time either. You could say Mitchell but he's never beaten anyone of note apart from the same guys as Hatton, and he looked scared shitless in the 2nd fight. Urkhal, who's nothing special, gave him a fairly tough time too and stunned him a couple times with his powder-puff punches which doesn't bode well for KT's punch resistance.
It's all conjecture though, there's only one way to find out.
June 4th in Manchester????
If Micky Vann is the ref, Tzyu will have to KO Hatton just to get a draw.
Anumore details about this? Have they signed the contract? When is the presser?
