All this talk tonight about Peter facing Big Klit for the belt already. Even RJJ talking about he's ready for anyone. Are we really that desperate for some excitement in the HW division that we're willing to throw an unseasoned kid who really hasn't beaten anyone of note in against the recognized champion of the world?
The only way I can see Peter winning right now is by late round KO if Bi Klit gets tired from the movement and volume it will take to the keep Peter off him. I honestly can't see Big Klit hurting Peter too badly, but he will give him a lesson at this point in Peter's career, possibly ending what could be an exciting fighter's career before it even gets started well.
Let's step Peter up against some better guys first. It would be interesting to see him fight Tua just for the exchange of brutal power. How about Peter v Guinn? or Peter v Barret? Peter v McCline? Peter v Toney would be interesting, but I think Peter would be horribly outclassed in this matchup, too. I don't think Toney could handle the two-fisted power, though.
Peter v Danny Williams? There's an interesting comeback fight for Williams. I think Williams could definitely hone Peter's skills without posing too much of a threat. Peter v Moorer? Would Moorer be too much, even at his advanced age?
I would love to see Peter v Ruiz. Peter it too large for Ruis to rap his arms around, so he couldn't hug him to victory.
all this talk of peter vs VK is silly... peter has fought NOBODY.... jeremy williams couldnt beat mo' harris and was one punched KO'd by akinwande... Wlad fought byrd, mccline, mercer, barrett and jefferson before serious talk of a title shot started with him.... peter hasn't even fought anyone of that caliber yet...
so far peter reminds me of ray mercer.... he looks like he can take a shot like mercer too, with that big head, shoulders and neck
Peter reminds me of McCline. I'd like to see those 2 go at it.
Peter would get killed if he was put up against Vitali right now.
vbMartin knows what he's talking about, although I think lewis was next to dead on his feat when the Klit fight was stopped. This dansweeney guy however sounds like a 10 year old punk who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
sounds like another HBO house fighter hype job
Yeah, too bad his last 2 fights were on Shobox. HBO probably just had this fight because it was the best thing they could put together. I know Peters a bit raw but I havnt seen nothing like what hes been doing from any of the other heavyweight "prospects." And, he just so happens to be one of the youngest of the bunch. I'd say hes at least someone to keep an eye on.

Apparently dansweeney is. Its really pathetic.
I dont think Peter is ready, but I do think he has a style to give Klit. some problems. If Klit. can keep Peter off of him he wins easily. But if Peter can land his big bombs and withstand Klitschko's right hands he will win the fight. In a year he could be ready for the bigtime matchups.
if youre scared get a dog man, seriously, you talk like vitali klitschko is joe fucking louis, he is not a dominant champion, to be the man you gotta beat the man, and he DID NOT beat lennox lewis, who i dont care for myself. klit is way overrated at this point, peter hits twice as hard as williams, and his tenacity is great, he isnt ready yet, like i said, let him fuck up the other so cld champions then let him fight vitali
Peter is strong, but....gets hit easily, doesnt seem to have any fundamental boxing skills, has an untested chin, questionable stamina....... if he ever is ready for The Man(Yes, Klit is the man because he gave Lennox a serious run for his money, and when LL wouldnt give the rematch that he said he would, Klit responded by KO'ing everyone in his path. It's not his fault the division is horrendous.), it's not going to be for a long, long time.
also for the record, I wouldn't pick Peter to beat Big Klit without seeing him take some serious steps up in class of opponent and dominating them, but h's got to be given the shot if he works hard for it, and it would be an exciting fight to watch just because of the puncher's chance Peter will always have.
I saw this guy fought tonight. He really packs powerful shots and has decent speed. This guy is just relentless! He is also well built and has a wide/big upper body. But I think he relies so much on his power and didn't box at all in this fight. His defense too was a little suspect coz he opens himself up with his powershots. I guess he was so confident that Yanqui couldn't hurt him. I think he still needs 1-2 big wins before some promoters will take a chance on him. But I believe he has a good chance of beating V-Klit whenever he's ready.

um. I'm not a Klit nuthugger, but he is the best in the division right now, and I see no one coming up the pike in the next year or so who can beat him.
Klit suffers from 2 things that will keep him from being considered a dominant champ.
1) Lewis retired. I had Klit ahead in that fight, but Lewis was starting to hit him hard and consistently. Kilt was stumbling backwards along the ropes at the end of the last round before the stoppage. I think he would have gotten KO'd if the fight had continued, but we'll never know now. Lewis's retirement robbed him of the chance for a rematch everyone wanted to see, and also of the chance to be considered a legitimate champ by defeating one.
2) There are no fighters considered to be of a high-enough caliber to give him a "career-defining" fight. Without that he will be remebered as a belt-holder.
I do think that, eventually, Big Klit would have won the title from a linear champ, though.
