As reported on Boxingtalk.net:
January 07, 2005 - Sources from Team Rahman have informed Boxingtalk.com that the eagerly anticipated heavyweight title fight between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman will likely take place on HBO on May 14 at either Madison Square Garden, The MGM Grand or The Mandalay Bay. It is not yet known whether or not the fight will appear on HBO World Championship Boxing, or HBO PPV. Boxingtalk.com will continue to keep you updated so stay tuned! Remember Where You Heard It First! (12:30 AM ET)
I think Rahman actually wins this fight by KO in the 8th or 9th round after Vitali shows his stamina is the worst since Ricardo Williams.
This is another fight you wouldve picked the loser. rachman another bumb.why you brought this 2 year old thread back? you fucking moronic piece of shit!
I love how the analysis on the first page is so bad!
Rahman has good stamina
He's going to KO vitali......ok, try beating Toney first, or maybe Maskaev....
VK TKOs Rahman, but somewhere along the fight, Rahman hits VK hard enough to where he realizes that he shouldn't even give Don King a chance therefore taking the stance of the democratic world "we will NOT negotiate with Terrorists!"
:D
i can't see rahman winning!!
even though i aint no fan of vitali i just dont see rahman getting close enough with a good jab to put vitali out of his stride.
vitali ko10 or 11!!!
This is absolutely sad... who cares if he breathes through his mouth, or stand flat-footed, or is white? all that matters is if he WINS. The fights you named above... you talk about look at VK in those fights, why don't you look at his opponents as well? were they busted up, tired? If VK had an experience like WK against Ross Purity, I could understand the basis of your arguement, but he didn't.
He had a bigger problem with beating the crap out of his hands on Williams FACE than he did with breathing through his mouth.
and this bit about " beat any HW except for Byrd and Toney.." I just can't take your logic any more brother :) LOLOLOL
sorry no offense, but wow..
....Yeah, what logic is that?? :)

....I see big Vit knocking Rahman through the ropes ala Maskaev and that will be the end of Rahman.
Saying that Rahman has six wins this year means absolutely nothing. VK would be 6-0 against that same opposition and nobody here is going to deny it.
Rahman marginally deserves a chance, but he is simply not good enough to take down Vitaly. Is he going to stand up to a barage of puches like DW did in order to fing one or two openings and KO VK with a monster punch? Or is he going to try to outbox Vitaly and win rounds?
Vitaly KO8, just like those before him.
Right now, I'm thinking there isn't anyone out there who can stop Klitchsko but closer to the fight, I'll probably get closer and closer to giving Rahman a good chance.
Empirical evidence. Look at his fights against Sanders, Lewis, Williams, hell, even Chris Byrd. In all those fights he was breathing hard and through his mouth after the first couple of rounds. He looks tired, he breathes hard, and when he gives interviews after fights it seems like he's still huffin' and puffin' trying to find his breath.
I think a MOTIVATED, IN-SHAPE Rahman is good enough to beat any HW except for Byrd and Toney. I think Rahman (motivated and in-shape) beats the living daylights out of The Quiet Man if they meet again and he boxed circles around Tua (not hard to do, really, but still impressive that he can take the shots Tua hands out). His jab and boxing skills are superior to Vitali's (and most HW's) and that should be the deciding factor.

It has nothing to do with his skin color.
People look at Klit, & see this oaf with numerous flaws....& can't believe he can be effective.
It hurts their boxing senses to see him successful.
But,he's tough....he's smart....he's huge....& the heavyweights around him are a bunch of CHUMPS.
