Geez, what's happening to pac? He's slacking off. I get alarmed whenever there's a great fighter who seems to get into good time sessions too much. I aint bashing pac, okay? I'm actually protective. Roach advised him to take the earliest hop to the Wildcard gym before christmas but he's leaving the Phils only on Jan. 8 I heard. It used to be him who was a conditioning freak but he looks like he's taking things soooo lightly. To stand toe to toe JMM, he has to at least have the same gas and stamina he had in the Barrera fight. I hope he gets into a training rhythm fast or it'll be ugly for him come february.
What up fella's, I have been out of the boxing scene for over 3 months now due to work abroad. Can you guys give me the scoop on what has happened with the Pac Man?
He's coming off a 4 round demolition of Thai Fahsan 3k Battery (the so called destroyer of Filipino boxers)
The best punch of the fight was a left uppercut that tore thru Fahsan's defense and caught the Thai under the chin and lifted him off the ground (literally) before he went down. That ended it. :D

1. pacman won against fahsan - 4th round tko after 3 kds by manny.
2. manila paper is reporting that manny hasn't started training after the fahsan fight in dec and marquez has been training since november on mountain top.
3. manny just signed a two-fight contract to fight jmm & erik with murad/hbo for $2.4 on his 26th birthday on dec. 17th. jmm is asking $1.5 for the rematch in feb.
4. pac is leaving on jan. 8 to train at wildcard gym with freddie. freddie wanted him to leave on dec. 26th. manny wants to leave on jan 8th coz that's his lucky number.

JMM exposed Pacquiao as a one demonsional fighter, outside of a brutal straight left what does Pacman really have?
I disagree. Styles make fights. On the JMM fight, Manny encountered a style that nullifies some of the effectiveness of his head on approach. If you've been monitoring Pac's progress from flyweight to feather, there's a pattern of evolution. Pacman has the ability to patch a previous weakness and you wont see it next time he fights. Pacman used to be reckless and had difficulty changing tactics during a fight before Roach came along. Watch his fight tapes pre-Roach and after Freddie trained him and you'll see a very significant improvement. Pac now has the ability to weave, block, concentrate on body attacks, and project controlled agression. These are not a mark of a one dimensional fighter. HE EVOLVES just like Barrera after the Junior Jones fights and before the Hamed bout and the Morales loss.
Hey, just to update you, Pac is a two fisted fighter now. Roach added a wicked right hand in Pac's arsenal just recently. He was able to display his new weapon in the his collision with Fassan 3k Battery. I predict... Roach will formulate and implement an anti-counter puncher tactic against JMM.
Pacman was one-dimensional only 1 time in his life, and that is with JMM. If you really think he's pure 1 dimensional...he must be the luckiest boxer in the world to win 40+ fights...3 time world champion (fly, superbantam and ring belt featherweight)
nicely out chupz, i said the same thing earlier. some guys are so quick to conclusion imo.
I think Pac lost his drive ever since he defeated Marco.... Barrera was his ultimate goal..now that he is done, he's not realizing that road to greatness doesn't stop there. If he loses to JMM this coming Feb., he's just gonna be 4th place on the greatest Filipino Boxers list. No way he's surpassing Flash!!
i don't think its true...pac knows very well what's at stake here. i support pac 100%...it's all or nothing at all. i'm hardcore.
i dont wanna hear all about how this time pac didnt win because he wasnt in shape
(which is what ppl will say)
i will quote u on that becuz that is exactly what pac fans will say. well if pac trained as hard as marquez he would've won easily. im just waiting for it.
i am sure on Feb 26 we will see another FOY candidate type of a fight and its not cuz of jmm or pac alone, this two guys are made to TANGO ....
and please don't forget guys that PAC even with the Christmas Holidays have maintained his weight, so he is not far off from tip top shape, PAC will be there 100% come fight night...
I am taking all kinds of bet (signature, avatar, points) just PM me the details if anybody is interested, my call PAC WILL BEAT JMM....
great thread...hell yeah pac is in trouble..JMM is a hard fight even on pac's best night...so imagine against a not well prepared pac...crap..mann better get in shape and fast...
i want this to be a great fight...i dont wanna hear all about how this time pac didnt win because he wasnt in shape
(which is what ppl will say)
JMM knows what at stake and is training as if he ws gonna fight Tyson...JMM is putting in great effort in training...i respect that
but i believe pac will be in great shape by fight night
(if he not-meaning his stamina wont be good-JMM will win easy..because JMM cant take pac into late rounds easily)
listen to yourselves. its all hope. it SHOULD give him an extra push. well he wasnt training hard at all for that fight until roach got there. now hes taking it easy again while marquez has BEEN training for a while now relentlessly. i think even u can say pac might be in trouble.
Well there IS a such a thing as over training. And with the effort that Manny excerts in his training if he does per say 8 weeks or more, he might just overdo it. I think Manny's body reacts well to training and he is a genetically gifted athlete so that's what I'm counting on. But that's IF he actually leaves a week from now on the 8th. I agree that there are too many distractions in the Phillippines. I'll tell you what though, if he pospones his trip by even just a few days, I'm putting my money on JMM . :(
don't forget that he also trained in la and davao before the fahsan fight and that should give him extra push for the more rigorous training in january.
Mooks! Happy new year bro. My account got deact but I'm back now.
I hope those six weeks are enough coz I don't want him making that an excuse when he loses to JMM but I'm banking on Roach's opinion that Manny is a hard driver when he does take his training seriously. Beristain said the few times he saw Manny, he admired his drive for training. Damn... I'd be more secure if he started training earlier. How'd I love to close down every cock fight center and billiard hall near General Santos City so there wont be any temptation for him to go out and play... Argh... I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one buddy.

Sad to see what's happening to our boy. When Pacman trains for something and is driven, he can be unstoppable. I don't know what's come over him. could it be that he already lost the hunger? In any case, I think 6 weeks is enough training for Pacquiao as he is an extremely hard worker when he trains. But I must admit Marquez has been training for quite some time now. I'm very interested in seeing the condition he's in. As for Manny, he better make sure to focus in those six weeks.
