By Lisa ScottAccording to reports out of London, Danny Williams has threatened to pull out of this Saturday’s heavyweight title fight against WBC champ, Vitali Klitschko if the Nevada State Athletic Commission insists that the Brit shave his beard. Williams, a devout Muslim, told the Daily telegraph “If they ask me to shave or even trim my beard, there won’t be a fight.” The NSAC will inspect Williams’ beard today to see if he would gain any advantage or disadvantage during the bout. Athletic chairman Marc Ratner offered “If the beard is considered abrasive, then the fighter will be asked to cut it back.” The response from Team Klitschko? “As long as there’s not a horseshoe hidden up there, we don’t mind.” Wednesday, December 8 2004 Man what a great excuse to get out of thee fight.
