Peter v Williams
Holy Shit. Wow.
Peter can punch. I thought Williams was making him look like a fool, but that left hand came out of nowhere.
Lacy v Sheika
This one surprized me. Sheika has been a durable fighter throughout his career, but I honestly never expected him to fight as well as he did through 12 rounds. I expected and early to mid round KO by Lacy.
While it doesn't set off any real alarm bells in my head about Lacy since there isn't much competition at 168, it did raise my already high respect for Sheika. While he'll never be a champion, he has proven his guts and his chin.
Castillo v Casamayor
Snorefest. I'm sorry, but this fight was horrible. I could have seen it going either way 7-5, though I like aggresiveness so I gave it to Castillo. He did land the harder punches, too.
I could have seen it 7-5 for Casamayor, though, because he was in control of when and where they engaged throughout the fight, with the exception of the 12th round.
I honestly believe the lady who had it 117-111 for Sheika was sleeping through most of the fight. I can't say I blame her.
Taylor v Joppy
This fight was the biggest disappointment in a long time. I know Joppy is on the downside of his career, but his performance tonight was just pitiful. Showboating, running, and refusing to engage. He ended a decent career on a very sour note.
As for Taylor, it was really hard to gage where he truly is in this fight.
I liked the fact that he maintained his professionalism in this fight, not getting frustrated and making huge mistakes to get caught.
I was disappointed, though, that he didn't press the action more than he did. Granted, it was a huge ring, but he could have jabbed more to the body.
I don't know that he's ready for Trinidad or Hopkins yet, but I think they would both be good fights and I think that even though he's young, it's time for him to make that move. If he doesn't, Hopkins will be retired, and that will put him in the position that Big Klit is in right now, not having the defining fight against the biggest and best in his division and owning a hollow belt.
Just my opinion.

Havent seen the Castillo/Casamayor fight. I wasnt expecting it to suck, I am a big Castillo fan, I thought there would be fireworks between these guys. I was more happy to once again see the fight of the year in Morales/Barrera III.
Before the fight every journalists at www.boxingtalk.net was going on about how Williams was gonna beat Peter and blah blah. Well, HA. Peter beat an average heavyweight but he beat him better than anyone before. Samuel Peter is one to watch!
I also had Castillo winning the fight. Cassamayor just held way to much in my opnion.
If Lacy ever wants to be a real player then he needs to start letting his hands go. I was SHOCKED Shieka made it to the bell I thought Lacy was gonna blow him out forsure.
Peter's KO was nasty but Jermey Williams sucks pretty bad so im not to hyped.
Taylor/Joppy was aiiight. I dont think Taylor will ever be ready for Hopkins.I thought Lacy and Taylor would both blow out their opponents.
As for Williams, while he's not that great, I think "sucks" might be a bit harsh. He really raised a lot of doubts in my head about the hype around Peter. If a boxer of William's slightly above average skills can make Peter look like a slow, plodding gorilla, what will happen to Peter when he steps into the upper echelon? Granted it's a little thin at the top, but I have my doubts that Peter could make it there even now. Williams was dancing around him, ducking under his bombs, slipping his jab, etc. Williams just farked up and thought he was safe going under the arm and out to the side and didn't get his hands up quick enough.
I guess Peter will always have that great equalizer, though.
As for Taylor never being ready for Hopkins, I don't agree. I don't know that he would beat Hopkins right now, but Hopkins doesn't move as well as Joppy and doesn't have enough power to keep Taylor at bay, so it would be interesting regardless of who won.

ya
i agree with every single one of ur words
vitali aint gettin credit
he would've beat lennox lewis if it wasnt for that cut, and he was beatin chris byrd with one arm hahahahahah
his basically undefeated n deserves more props
but jermain taylor, i think he could've knocked him out
when he had joppy on tha ropes, and started throwin punches at him, joppy was coverin up, when ur opponent covers up that's ur chance to hit them in all tha openings, taylor didnt do that
n joppy definately poor performance tonite, just dancin around like he was dominating, which he wasnt.
