If Felix Sturm is successful in defeating Cherifi tonight then he will meet Trinidad at MSG sometime in March. The card will be broadcast on HBO PPV with Fernando Vargas as it's main support. I can't believe Sturm is going to get his chance at greatness once again!! As long as he can defeat Cherifi tonigt nothing will get in the way of this fight being made.
Wow, good job by Sturm. Any way to get this fight?
By the way, I still say Trinidad beats him after a tough start.
I just finished downloading the fight so PM me if you want it. Only highspeed users please...
Christ, what a thing to do to your fighter, to have Tito ruin them. Sturm is going to wish he was David Reid by the end of this fight, which shouldn't last too long. Outside of a snappy jab and a little slick defense Sturm has nothing to offer.
I hate all of these crotch-nuggets that pop up and cop a feel on an upcoming fighters nuts anytime they do anything even moderately impressive. Sturms catch was outpointing an out of shape, unfocused De La Hoya. Big Deal.
I'm willing to bet that after Sturm feels that first Tito left hook he won't have the balls to stick out his chin like Mayorga but will instead run back to his corner, shit his pants and beg his corner to throw in the towel.
Stop overhyping this eurotrash pantywaste.
It's all about taste. For example, I like Evil Dead but it's not among my favorite flicks. On the other hand, there are several Stallone movies that I like a lot. Movies like Rocky III and IV, Rambo movies, Over The Top, Cobra, Get Carter, and so on. He is not my fave actor but he is in my top 3.
Oh yeah Victory was a good one also!
Oh cause his movies arent that great. Except for Rocky and FirstBlood

Against a guy like Hopkins, he can't win anymore than 4 rounds (and that's if he's lucky)...
As far as the whole following thing goes, that's the only style Tito Trinidad knows. When the going gets tough, keep moving forward, keep chasing 'em..
So there is nothing he can do to nullify the counter-punching.
In their first fight Merchant made an excellent point. He said when Tito Trinidad fights, he counts on his power to play the difference, and when it doesn't...he's stuck.
I think Tito will start the fight trying to go by that gameplan you stated, but he'll quickly fall away from it after being frustrated.
You never know. But at least you recognize that what I say could happen.
He will box more and move his head. Now he knows that Hopkins has a very good chin, so he won't think that he'll KO him easily like he KO's almost everyone. He will probably try to fight him like he fought Pernell Whitaker, round by round and thinking about the points. Also, he might choose not to follow Hopkins so much and fall prey to his counterpunching.

ARE YOU IN LOVE W/SLY?
First off, I don't hate Tito Trinidad. No matter what you say, nothing can change that fact that he has a weak chin. I'll admit that he has alot of heart for staying up when he does get hurt and for having the ability to get up after getting knocked down, but face it the guy has a glass jaw, he just knows how to beat the count..
Obviously I misunderstood your post...If you said he will not go head-hunting like he did in 2001, what do you think he will do more of, and how can you justify your assumption?

If you are going to rewrite my post just quote me, then. I just can't take your opinion seriously since a lot of your posts show that you don't like Trinidad. Well, it's not that you don't like Trinidad, you hate him. Trinidad does not have a weak chin, he was dropped only once after 11 effective rounds by Hopkins. I never said that he would take Hopkins if he used body punches, so that came from you. I did not even guarantee that Trinidad would win, just that the rematch will be different and way more competitive.

FINALLY! A sane person who actually knows something about Sturm. Did you see the fight today? I'm waiting for the download but I heard he was throwing quick combos. I'll bet everything I got on Sturm not getting KOed by Trinidad or anyone else for that matter.
You must really be a diehard Sturm fan. That is some blind faith.
At least 70 percent of the posts in this thread are either plain stupid or, well, plain stupid. You guys don't know shit about Sturm yet you keep talking about how he's too weak and hasn't anything but an ok jab. I'm sick and tired of prooving you wrong over and over again.
Lets do it like this. I'll bet 250,000 on Sturm not getting KOed by Trindad if they fight each other next year. Any takers?
And if someone's interessted I'll do a RoundbyRound coverage of Sturm - Cherifi tonight.

Bernard Hopkins felt Tito Trinidad's power and I don't recall him running in the fight. Why didn't you mention him?
As far as the comment earlier on how Hopkins wouldn't hurt Tito if they met again in the ring...bullshit. You act as if you need an iron glove to hurt Tito's weak chinned ass...and Hopkins already has exactly what it takes to out-do Tito. And Tito won't go head-hunting like he did in 2001, why the hell not? You think just because he saw he was successful by going to body with Ricardo Mayorga that he will become a body snatcher against Hopkins...I doubt it, Hopkins will kill'em with straight punches all night and then close distance and take him apart on the inside..
As far as Tito vs. Sturm goes, I see Tito winning a close decision, maybe even a gift decision. I think Sturm will terrorize him all night, though. I agree Sturm does have a Tight body, and if Tito tries to hunt for the body without first landing a jab, or blinding him with a straight punch he's going to get eaten by Sturm's jab..

Yeah, he folds just like Tszyu to Vince Phillips, right?
Listen, Tito's power is the most underrated thing in boxing. People still don't learn after watching him KO so many mofos. Look at Vargas (first and 12th round), Joppy, and even DLH (who ran like a chicken, I might add). Everyone gets KO'd or runs once they feel the power Tito brings to the ring.
Sturm is a good fighter (still B level, but good) but is not on par with Tito. Tito KO's him in 9. That jab will only work for the first few rounds but when Tito sees that Sturm can't hurt him (and Sturm couldn't KO Ivan Calderon) then he will walk right through the punches and KO him.

I'll send whoever wants it a PM when it's available for download. I think Sturm loses a bad decision on the cards after a slow start. Quick combos from Sturm tonight... :D
Felix Sturm knocked Cherifi out cold in the 3rd round! More to come...BRING ON TITO!
Yeah I Just read about it. Man the Tito nuthuggerz will just say his opponent was garbage. I think it will be a competitive fight. Tito on the cards
