What if Zab Judah loses?
Zab Judah was one of the most hyped of the Class of '96. He had the speed, the power, and the skills to be one of the greatest. Unfortunately, he lacked the discipline and the chin to be great. After winning the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight title, he went on a tear before running into Kostya Tszyu, who KO'ed the Brooklyn native in 2 rounds. After a failed campaign for a rematch with Tszyu, he moved up to welterweight to challenge the undisputed welterweight champ Corey Spinks. On the undercard of Klitschko-Brewster, he lost a close decision to Spinks. After 2 victories over nondescript oppostion, he finally gets his much anticipated rematch against Spinks. But what if Judah loses here? Where does he go? Would a change in trainers help him? Is Judah just wasted talent that will go unfulfilled?
DLH should avoid Forrest as his first welter fight, I think Forrest beats DLH if he doesnt get a warm up first.
DLH should just take an durable fighter when he first moves back down.
Hey I appreciate it bud....but...this was said when Felix was in retirement and Oscar was courting Felix over dinner etc. Don Felix has been directly asked since since the MAyorga fight and flat out said no way. Like I said earlier it should be a 50-50 split, would you agree on that? Telling a guy like Oscar that he gets 40% is probably not acceptable, I think OScar should put a scenario (I wish more fights were done this way)where the winner takes the 60% and the loser takes the 40%. Anyways this is a fight that I would have loved to see, it is too bad.
Hey man, I like this idea about the winner taking 60% of the purse. I think it would make the fight game more interesting. It would cancel out all the B.S. that happens regarding negotiations. Nice thread!

I would love to see that do you know where I can find it??? Just recently Don Felix was saying that OScar did not deserve to fight Tito, he said they would never fight again. If the Trinidads really wanted this fight then they should make what you say above common knowledge to the entire boxing world, call Oscar out so too speak...maybe it is and I am missing something-but Oscar has lobbied for this fight and it has fallen on deaf ears...you may love Tito but for some wierd reason he is not interested in fighting HOYA again.
If they do fight the terms should be 50-50, Oscar is the bigger draw (not by alot)and Tito is coming off a big win(OScar is not)...translation 50-50. If Don Felix thinks they deserve more money then he is simply saying indirectly that they don't want the fight.
It was on BoxingTalk before Tito retired. 50-50 would never work with them especially since Delahoya lost his last fight. I think they are trying to do what Oscar tries to do to everyone else.
The Trinidads have found excuses for not giving DLH a rematch. I don't think many are more deserviing of a rematch with a fighter than DLH against Trinidad. NO way DLH lost that fight. I can't even find a professional that thinks DLH lost.
I've heard Papa Trinidad say that for a rematch with DLH they want the same contract as in the 1st fight, but Tito getting the money that DLH got in the first fight and viceversa...And that DLH doesn't agree to dat...

The Trinidad's have already nixed the rematch with Oscar...Oscar has went above and beyond what 99.9% of fighters do too secure a rematch...there is nothing left he could have done to get Tito back in the ring. Apparently the Trinidad's feel that they beat OScar so bad the first time that a rematch is useless...here you have every fighter in the sport foaming at the mouth to get a piece of the Hoya lottery and the one guy that could turn the fight purse into the powerball lottery does not want to make the fight...this puzzles me why DON and FELIX won't take this fight-the money that could be made is absolutely ridiculous.
I think both Oscar and Tito are both to blame for the rematch not happening. Tito well actually Don King and Trinidad Sr. have said that in order for the rematch to take place Tito should get the bigger portion of the pot. Oscar and Bob Arum on the other tried to offer Trinidad next to nothing the way they did with Mosley. Mosley was dumb enough to go for that and you know Don King isn't going to let that happen to his cash cow especially since Tito does own a victory over Oscar.
I have mixed feelings about Oscar's "business decision" to move down to the welterweight division. Yes, it's a smart move in regards to prolonging ones dominance within a sport, but I was hoping to see him at least fight Hopkins again or Strum and Trinidad. Those names would bring him more money-(ok, maybe not the Strum fight)but the Trinidad or Hopkins rematch would be bigger money than let's say a Spinks or Judah match would.

Hey dumbass. You're not being clever. Did you think that you were original by telling her she lived in a fantasy world? What did you do, get halfway through the first word of her post and stop reading? One of the first things she said was that "in her fantasy world" De la Hoya would "un-suck". (Nice usage of a non-existent word, T-hop. I like it.) In, fact she ended her post by saying that she loved her fantasy world, you stupid shit. She said it was her fantasy world. Twice.
She's a new fan, so cut her come slack. And why don't you find a way to stop being so damn stupid? Yunno, un-dumb yourself or whatever. Cock.
I meant zero harm by what I said, the fact that she is knew to the site is something I probably should have cut her some slack for. Again I meant ho harm, whats with the foul mouth, look at my post and yours, I read earlier(I may be wrong) that you introduced her too the site, with your words you are obviously very protective of her, which probably means one of two things 1)you are fucking her or 2) she is a retard(retards need protecting, no doubt)...hmmm, in my fantasy world Nigel Benn never would have gotten back into the ring in the first round against G-man, in my fantasy world Riddick Bowe would have got the decision against Holyfield in the second fight, in my fantasy wolrd OScar would have knocked out Bernard and then fought Vitaly for the heavy weight crown, in my fantasy world Ali would have dominated Holmes, stuck around for a few years and then fought Tyson....This is an overreaction on my part to the ladies post...do you think you overreacted at all? Unless she's five I would bet that she doesn't need you jumping in to protect her...oh if she is retarded that counts too, if either of these two apply then I was way out of line and I apologize.
As for me finding a way to stop being so damn stupid...I don't think that will ever happen, if you have read any of my posts in the past you will clearly see that I have trouble putting even simple sentences together, maybe you need to cut me some slack...after all you have proved that I am somewhat slow...again I apologize miss.
If Oscar can make 147.....I think it would be good for him to go back there.
First thing, he should drop Floyd Sr. as his trainer.
There's no need for Oscar to keep trying to be a slickster, when he could return to a class where he can put a hurt on people.
Don't count on Oscar-Spinks...Cory is with King, & he's left-handed.
That is a fantasy world that you are living in, maybe you have been giving advice to Holyfield, simply telling him that he is not going to retire until he unsucks at HW. Every fighter has his limit and Oscar has had to face up to that... I believe he would like to start hurting opponents again, the only fighter he has hurt in the last several years was Vargas...I think a move down too welterweight is perfect. Who knows maybe it sets the stage for a down the round fight with KT.

I'm no fan of Oscar, really, but I'd disagree that a move down in weight class was really a business move. The man has proved time and again that he will take risks and take on the big fighter for glory and for the challenge, not for cash. That's what really made his fight against Hopkins so great: it was too men more intersted in legacy than cash fighting for the honour of having beaten the other one.
Hopkins could take on tomato cans and still get big gates by this point. I think he wants to drop down and rack up some Ws to end his career on a good note.
OOOOh man. I agree. I smell some karma coming your way...and way to be unbiased. Very nice.

Oh crap. You figured out Evander's dirty little secret...me.
