He'll be back. He doesn't want to go out like that (on his back).
All he needs is just more critics saying he's "done" and that he has "no chance" against today's best. That'll be motivation enough, I reckon.
Personally, I don't mind if he stays retired, he's got nothing else to prove, he's got cash and he's going to the HOF.
But he'll be back.
Roy is done. It has nothing to do with age or speed or reflexes. Sometimes fighters are just done. They turn into those punch drunk boxers. The same can be said for Vargas. If they get back in the ring they can be seriously hurt, espically Jones. If people cant see that these guys are nowhere near the fighters they used to be then something's wrong with you. You can take all the rest you want but time cant heel this
His quickness has eroded and he can be hit now, and apparently his jaw isn't too good.
He had no excuses against Tarver the second time, or should have had. Getting blasted should have "woke him up" against Johnson, if that was all that was wrong.
He just doesn't have his reflexes. Johnson, a journeyman albeit with a belt, had no trouble hitting him the whole fight.
define "done."
Can he still compete in the weak light heavyweight division? Probably.
Can he win a heavyweight fight and/or get revenge on Tarver and Johnson? Probably not.
I think RJJ has still that will inside him to win a fight next time around. He just have to focus more on the fight and his opponent.
