for McCline to win he needs to fight like his career is over if he doesn't win, he also needs to try and swarm BYrd with power punches. i've only seen McCline fight a couple of times, but i doubt he has the stamina to be a swarmer
McCline is limited offensively and has no jab. He can't fight his height. Byrd by wide dec.
That's not true - McCline's jab is quick and powerful, although not particularly accurate. But a jab isn't what beats Byrd anyways - it's the ability to push him around, trap him and pound without getting demoralized (because you're missing him a lot) or tired. That's my biggest question about McCline - does he have the heart/bully in him to manhandle Byrd? If he does, he has the physicality to do the job. If he doesn't, it's gonna be a long night for everyone...
I think Byrd will be able to avoid Big Time's punches for a while, but McCline will eventually trap him and let his hands go and the Byrd will fly out of the ring. McCline KO in 8.
If McCline wasn't such a pansified weiner, I would give him a great shot at winning. McCline, however, freezes up when someone fights back. Byrd, although a miserable token of a heavyweight, will fight back (complete with unbearingly annoying "WHOOOO!"'s and head shaking whenever McCline does anything).
My consistent general belief is that fighters like Byrd kill boxing. Watching him fight is akin to having your teeth pulled with pliers. He will, however, win this fight.
My opinion is all of the heavyweights are somewhat limited. I couldn't care less who beats who. I will say that out of all the division has to offer, Vitali is the best. I'm certain that he could score wins against any of them. That's my take on it anyway.
I would like to see Vitali vs. Toney and Vitali vs. Tyson.
If Vitali beats these two convincingly (which I think he would), his legacy will be cemented for good.
