Is this a joke, or are you seriously this clueless? Not a Joke, not clueless. If you're really interested, maybe you can form a question, not simply an insult. James Toney was known as pound-for-pound great, 10 years ago. Since gettin' whopped by RJ in 1994, what has Yoney done that's impressed you? Maybe you figure he's proven himself by losing twice to Montell Griffin? Or, maybe it was his dominating style against Jirov? Toney's getting a bit slower and heavier, that's about it. Now he's getting the attention he NEEDS by showing his power and skill against Danny Green? Wow, now I'm impressed too. If he was half the "Heavy" he claims to be, he would have taken him out. whdempsey - Let's hear your view, not just the insults.

Not unless I was allowed to bring a gun into the ring. Remember how he convinced the ref that Holyfield had punched him low when Vander almost kayoed him with a clean shot to the body? Nah, Golota, Rahman or Tua is going to beat Ruiz, and then Toney will chase that belt. Your only decent argument is that he's too injury-prone. We'll just have to wait and see.

Toney will get his "payday" fight some day, quite soon probably, and will be exposed. Sure he has skills, but the guy just isn't committed to his sport. He wats the attention, he wants the glory, but he just doesn't have the intelligence (especially in the ring) to adjust and win when he can't KO a guy. nah, man. toney's next fight will be against a top ten guy. and i doubt vitali really wants any of toney. cant do damage? he knocked out holyfield. whos done that? he at least does more damage than ruiz since ruiz never knocked out holyfield.

He talks shit to his grandma. If you actually believe that the Green Machine, as tough and strong as he may be, was pushing around James Toney, than you need a reality check. It didn't happen. Toney chose to go to the ropes, where he was counterpunching with incredible accuracy, just the same way he does in every fight.

I agree. Toney was handling Green, and I'm not biased cos I'm a big fan of both fighters. Toney went to the ropes because he wanted to. He had many chances to get out and he didn't. Toney's skills are amazing - anyone who boxes will really appreciate watching him. Watch the first two rounds again, I can't remember which one it was, but he slips two jabs with ease and answers with a beautiful uppercut, and makes it look easy.

Green got in some good shots but Toney was beating him up with his punches. Alot of people think Green made Toney backup to the ropes but he went there on his own. Green showed he was tough as hell but Toney did what he wanted to do when he wanted to do it. There was no grudge match but Green called Toney out for two days straight. Green held his own as much as he could but Toney got the best of him and more. I dunno if I said it better myself.

I don't buy that crap about Toney using Green to actually train, this was a grudge match of sorts, and they both had something to prove in there, and I guess he either couldn't get Green out, or he afraid to try for fear of failing, either way he looked very tired by the end. I'd strenuously disagree. Toney was handling Green. I mean, yeh, Green was tough, but it was pretty obvious Toney never went all out on his ass. He did just enough to lay a whuppin on him. Just enough to let Green know that he was messing with someone he never should have messed with. Green got the message, too. If this was a grudge match, Green would never have tried to shake hands afterward. Plus, if Toney talked half as tough as he actually is, your ears would start bleeding just listening to him.
