Obviously I'm going with my boy Byrd. As I have said many times before, Chris will box circles around Big Time all night long and make him look like an amatuer. Byrd wins this one by a lopsided UD.
However it is interesting to note that Byrd has had trouble with bigger men and McCline is a monster of a man, but those bigger men all weren't afraid to let their hands go unlike McCline and those other bigger guys weren't afraid of their own shadow unlike McCline.
I feel the same way, I still think a 6'2 or 6'3 fighter with decent handspeed and some power could clean out the division. I do respect Byrd's attributes and wish nore people appreciated them. It's called boxing for a reason, that's why they have trading licks lol
Exactly!Good call hollister

As much as i dont like Byrd i can appriciate his skill and effort. :) Byrd definitely has an edge in this fight especially with Don King around. Man,, if byrd had a little more power...
Too bad he does not. :(
I respect your opinion, its nice to see a poster respect the skills of a fighter even though you don't like that fighter.
he lost to byrd... he lost to byrd.... he lost to byrd.

Isn't losing to this guy much worse?

...Not as long as King controls the other three belts. IMO he will protect his other three guys and keep milking his cash cow. Vitali is not about to give King options for him being allowed to unify the belts. I don't think the Universum thing will mean much as far as unification goes. I hope I'm wrong because I would love to see Vitali unify the belts starting with the IBF. :D
lol lol lol :D
thank u for telling me this pbds. thank u thank u thanku.
do you know what this means .
it means unification is just around the corner.

yeah so over matched he went up in weight and snached a cruserweight title, while Michalczewski loses his title to Julio Cesar González
......When Dariusz fought Hill it was 1997 when he fought Gonzalez it was 2003. Thats 6 years and alot of miles on Dariusz. You make it sound like it all happened in the span of like 3 months. Dariusz is not the same fighter now that he was in 1997. That was my point and I think you missed it.
i did, but hill was also older

they are getting away from universum? tell me more? :)
....They are basically promoting themselves right now and have terminated the contract with Universum. It's still in litigation at the moment. Universum won the first round and the Klits won the second. It's all based on Universum trying to extend the contract based on Wlad and Vit being injured for a period of the contract. According to the Klits their obligation to the curent Universum contract is over with.
I think Byrd lost his last two fights, this time he is going to lose his title.
i think he'll win i've seen jm and byrd sparr, he dont hold a candle to byrd.
I will give Byrd props for his boxing skills and the fact that he seems accesible to the common man(Mr. Thaz). JK I emailed Byrd one time on the advice of a friend of his who was on the aol heavyweight boxing boards. He answered my email in less than 24 hours and it included some tough questions about the possibility of him ever fighting the Klits again. I was pretty impressed with that. The difference between you and I and your love of Byrd is that I look at the Klits realistically. The jury is still out on Wlad and his future gets cloudier by the day. I admit that something is wrong there and I'm not sure what his future holds. Vitali is not just recognized by me but by many other people and most boxing experts as the best out there. Given Byrds last two performances(should be loses) how can you keep a straight face and think he is still the man? Come on now? So, give me your take on Byrd's last two fights and how he did. This should be interesting.
oquindo vs. byrd
that fight was byrds worst preformance but
oquindo lost.
oquindo was doing well rounds 3-7 doing to byrd what he does to most fighters, but then started imitating ruiz
by rushing and grabbing and hitting behind the head.
byrd wasn't busy but at least he was poppin the jab inbetween rushes and was trying to win, while all oquindo was trying to do was knock byrd out, the way he cheated and k.o.ed mo harris. grabbing and tackleing guys is no way to win rounds and rabbit punches dont either.
poor preformance by byrd but worse preformance from oquindo.
i had byrd up by two points but there where alotta ugly rounds and i could see someone scoreing it even or a point up for oquindo but it was a close ugly fight. and thats just not byrds fault that was oquindo.
now as for the score. i totally think king put the fix in no way was it that far ahead for byrd but i do think he won 116-114.
byrd vs. golata
what can i say, it was a close fight. both guys shined, those who like boxers think byrd won those who like punchers thought golata
won.
i think a draw was fair, both guys worked hard and gave us the best fight that night. didn't you enjoy it? i loved it. i hope golata wins so i can see it again in as a unification bout.
...Besides, when Hill fought Michalczewski he was overmatched to begin with. It wouldn't have mattered where or when that fight took place. Michalczewski was simply a better fighter at that point in time and Hill was on the downside of his career. If Dariusz had the runs instead of Hill I'm sure it would have been the same result.

thank you for getting my name right.
many people are being influanced by the markiting done by hbo i.m.o. and don't look at the klits obvious flaws: vitali is two robotic and stiff to be a great fighter(not to say he won't beat alotta today's heavyweights, he knows how to back up and draw a fighter in.) but he will never beat a fighter with good movement, and he dont fight on the inside well,he looks sloppy fighting on the inside but it maybe ok for him cause he's got a granite chin.
wlad: he's more athletic but he fights stupid. chin in the air and hands low, goes for any feint, and on top of that no chin.
i do think its possable he was poised i just ain't heard about it
yet. but its believeable
now i like byrd, cause he can box, not many heavys can do that right now. every time you talk to a casual fan about boxing they think its all about takin punches and k.o.ing the other guy cause they only watch heavyweights, but byrd brought boxing back to the div. and if thats looking at it unrealisticly the i'll be unrealistc we need byrd and toney to make these other guys start boxing again or the div. will turn into "who's got the biggest heavyeight with the most power " thats cool but it's only half the story and good boxer is a joy just to watch
....like I said, lets see the proof. Same thing goes for Wlad, no proof of wrong doing then it can't be taken as a fact. If evidence comes out to prove he was poisoned then we will know for sure. It was a strange collapse but maybe he was too hyped and something unusual happened to his system. He fought at that pace and higher many times before with no problems so something unusual went on in there. Who knows for sure?
why do you need proof? do you need proof that don king is fixing fights for his fighters ? did you need proof that king fixed dlh/trinadad? no! you know cause it makes since. same thing here. 5 guys with good rep say hey there cheating then you know the promoter with the bad rep is cheating.
weak.
virgil hill is a future hall of famer whos rep. is unblimished
he's fought all around the world and knows not to drink the local water.
if he said he thinks they cheat, i'll believe him before i believe a promoter wouldn't.

....Where did I say that I thought Universum was so great? I'm glad the Klits are getting away from them, but not because I think they poison all the guys who fight their guys. Show me proof of any of the things you mentioned that fighters said happened to them in Germany. I still say it could be the rich food, the water, any number of things that happen to people all the time when they travel abroad. Ever heard of a fighter getting sick when they went to Mexico? I think Byrd had the runs because he got gang banged and all lubed up in the back end.
