If this guy had the mental strength of Vitali to go with his phsyical skills he'd be undisputed. He's got a good punch. A very good chin. He has hand speed and punches very very well in combination, something that 99% of heavyweights can't do. The number of heavyweights who can hook off a jab you can count on one hand, but unlike Wlad, Golota is fluid and relaxed. The second things don't go his way however he freezes up. The layoff for a couple years appears to have rejuvenated him the way it did Trinidad.
I always liked Golota. I was a big Riddick Bowe fan, but he gained my respect after that first fight when he whipped Bowe's fat ass. I really hope he can rid the boxing world of John Ruiz. For that alone he deserves a medal. i don't care if he KOs Ruiz or breaks his neck in a headlock and gets DQd. As long as Ruiz is out of boxing it's good enough for me. By any means. Thug style!
I dunno what that fat azz thought when he started this thread. This gotta be the one of the worst BS that should be trash and not ever recycled again. I dunno why he even retrieved that sorry Golota from obscurity.
Golata may be the best skilled fighter in the heavy weights now but thats because everyone else just sucks. He has to have one of the worst chins in the sport I have seen in a long time and how he keeps getting on big cards is beyond me
WTF did you bring up a Thread from October of LAST YEAR???
golota fukin sucks ballz he alwayz getz knocked out in like the 5 rd down thats all ..he would get charged on and these kids just knock his ass out l ol hes wack ....done

Uh. You' dont get it do you?
Czyz got murdered. That's not debatable. Czyz quit. That's not debatable.
But the fact was, Holyfield hit him with everything and couldn't drop him. Corrie Sanders KO'd Czyz with one punch in one round.
Therefore, logic dictated holyfield wasn't able to hurt Tyson enough to keep Tyson off of him.
I was at Tyson Holyfield I. I doubt you were actually actively wtching boxing then. The Czyz fight was not one of Evander's finer moments. He never put a Czyz on the canvas and Czyz had been on the canvas before vs. lesser fighters at much lighter weight classes.
You clearly don't understand the CONTEXT of Holyfield's performance at that time. In boxing, a win isn't a win. It's how you win. Czyz doesn't make it past one round with Tyson, Sanders, Bowe, Lewis, Moorer or any of the top heavies at that time.
Therfore, Evander's perfomance as considered by and large inadequate for an aspiring heavyweight champion. Evander wasn't at full strength or at his peak for the Czyz fight. Even he admitted that.
Go study your boxing history then come back and talk. you dont know shit
Oh ok Mrs. Butterworth. I Have been a huge boxing fan all my life and I actually picked Holy over Tyson that night and everyone said I was crazy!!! Just cause we don't agree on a fighters performance I don't know shit about boxing??? Czyz fought with heart that night!!! Holy was trying his damnedest to finish the fight as fast as possible and your right, he couldn't. It was just a matter of time though!!! Czyz wasn't just some push over, he was a former world champ at different weights!!! And according to what everyone else on this board is saying about you... You don't know shit!!! ;)
Wrong!!! I have this fight on tape and watched it live as it happened... Czyz was complaining at the end that he couldn't see and asked the ref to check Holy's gloves!!! His eyes were all red too!!! That's why they stopped the fight but Holy gave Czyz one of the worst beatings he ever took!!!

Wow. You thought Evander looked good? he hit a blown up light heavyweight who was fat and slow with every punch in the book and never took Czyz off his feet. Who'd win the fight wasn't up for debate. It was how Evander, who was coming back after that mysterious "heart" ailmaent. The consensus was he was shot. If he didn't have enough power to drop Czyz there's no way he'd be ready for Tyson.
It's because of the Czyz fight why no one gave him a chance in the first Tyson fight. That's why when Evander did beat Tyson it was such a big upset. How can he KO Tyson and knock Tyson down but never KO Czyz?
That's what made what he ddid so remarkable.
Evander looked like sh!t vs. Czyz. It wasn't that he won. It was HOW he won that was at issue.
You must not know a lot about the context of the Czyz fight and must be a newbie to boxing. Any veteran boxing observer would agree with me on this.
maybe he did have a heart ailment then. to look like that, and do what he did afterward.

Holyfield beat the shit out of Czyz till the fight was stopped!!! I thought Holy looked great in this fight!!!

When they asked Golota after the fight why he quit, he said that he felt with all the point deductions he got he didn't think the judges were going to give him the decision if it went that far. Listen, I am not making excuses for Golota's behavior in the past, he fucked up his career by doing the stupid shit that he did in those fights. The topic is whether or not we think Golota would defeat Wlad if they fought and I believe he would because Wlad is a very fragile individual now. If he was afraid to fight inside against Williamson, he would be terrified of fighting inside against Golota because Golota punches alot harder than Davaryll.
Everything about the TOS fight comes back to Shufford. The Shufford fight should really be mandatory viewing for everyone who thinks that Wlad looked like crap against TOS. Was Wlad also afraid to get inside against Shufford? He didn't seem afraid of fighting inside against TOS in the 4th round when he realized that he had to do something or he was going to lose the round.

He also said that his corner was telling him he was losing every round!!!

One thing about Golota is he does have a great chin!!! Sure he has been knocked down, but those were by some huge shots!!! The punches he took would have put most heavies to sleep!!! Did anyone see his fight with Tyson??? That shot he took in the first round was the same exact shot that put Botha in la la land, and he got right up!!! Golota almost didn't even go down from it!!! It even took Lewis who is one of the hardest punchers ever about 5 cosecutive straight rights to knock him down, and he got right up!!! Against grant was a different story!!! Golota barely got hit and was wobbled before a barrage of punches put him down!!! He looked as if he didn't want to be there and just quit!!!
Did anyone see the fight between him and that Samson Pao'uh??? He was hitting Golota with some of the hardest shots I have seen a heavyweight take, then Golota tied him up and bit him on the neck!!! When they showed the replay, Sean O'Grady said: Here's Golota going for the jugular!!! LOL!!!
That's like using Bobby Czyz to determine how good of a heavyweight Holyfield is. He looked like sh!t and as a result people said there's no way he could beat Tyson. right? WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRONG.
Did you even see this fight???
Holyfield beat the shit out of Czyz till the fight was stopped!!! I thought Holy looked great in this fight!!!
Golota was defeating Grant and then decided to call it a day. Grant did not force him to quit he made that decision on his own. Golota is mentally unstable but he still is one of the most skilled fighters out there and Wlad would go down hard against him.
So Grant KDing Golota had nothing to do with him wanting to quit then?
I thought this discussion about Lewis vs Golota was answered awhile back. Golota was given a painkiller shot that night before the fight and he passed out twice because the Dr. shot him up in the in the wrong area. Golota was on cloud 15 when he entered the ring and then he settled a lawsuit outside the court with that Dr. Regardless, the Wlad of today stands no chance of defeating Golota. The Wlad that fought Ray Mercer, that is an entirely different story.
Wait so now Grant can beat Golota, but Wlad can't? What part about Golota not being able to beat big punchers don't you get?

Well Golota, got a better chin. (not hard too acomplish).
But no way in hell big bulky steroid golota is faster. Have you seen him fight?
Wlad better power,faster,bigger.
Golota chin, lowblows, better confidence.
Skill eqeual.
