With Don King around... nothing will be unified in the heavyweight division for a long time.
I am quite worried about that too. I am more worried about Don King taking all of the belts under his control. I wonder if he is more of a scumbag now than he was in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
it will be on again mate Im sure.
I did have a copy on tape I could have sent ya but taped the Bhop fight over it. :(
Thats cool, it probably will be on again in the future. I'm just pissed off that i missed it, i normally watch anything boxing related.
AAW MATE did ya not see the documentary on BBC2 "the fight" a copuple of saturdays ago?
Bit tainted but it was good stuff, did you Max is a multi millionaire and that made his big money from a post war coca cola franchise!
impress your mates down the gym dude! ;)
I missed that program like a stupid idiot. I wish i would have seen it now, i don't really know alot about Max Schmeling. It sounds like it was a real treat. I cannot believe i didn't record it, i don't know what i was thinking.

i dont think we'll see the titles unified for a while, cause king has 2 of the belts(i dont count the WBO) and the only guys that get shots at ruiz or byrd are other king fighters(rahman, fres, golota, holy).... i also dont think VK is too keen on dealing with king.....
It was his 99th bday tuesday!
Max Schmeling celebrated his 99th birthday with a few close friends in his hometown of Hamburg. "I am getting older," pointed out the former world heavyweight champion. "It's not a reason to celebrate.
"But now I want to make the 100."
Schmeling is still a fan of the sport. "When there are big fights, I try to watch them on TV," he said. "But I'm no longer getting up at 4 o'clock in the night to see a fight."
His great friend and rival, Joe Louis, died in 1981. Max paid for his lavish funeral and also donated a huge amount of cash to Joe's widow. It was delivered to Mrs Louis at the funeral by Henry Lewin, who as a boy had been smuggled out of Germany by Schmeling during Hitler's anti-Jew crusade.
When Lewin said who the parcel was from, Mrs Louis uttered: "Ah, Max Schmeling. Our true friend."
god bless Max Schmelling one of the good guys no matter hoe they try to paint him.
 Wow i never knew that about Max Schmeling, i wish him the best and hope he reaches 100. I didn't even know that him and Joe were friends too.

Williams is going to disappear faster than a woman in jabsRstiff's bed after the alcohol haze lifts....
or preferably,
dissappears as quickly as Nicht dicht does from this forum when challenged on anything to do with boxing.
you started it bitch tits, you got me on your case for good now. :D
I'd pick Vitali Klitschko at this moment in time purely because alot of the other heavyweights seem to fear him. I hope Golota beats Ruiz because if he does i think Golota would be an interesting challenge for Vitali. Although i am kinda hoping Danny Williams somehow manages to pull off an upset this December against Vitali. (It's good to dream)
Toney has to stop fighting stiffs like Booker and now he is looking to fight overrated Owen Beck. I'd respect him a lot more if he goes after Barrett when he gets healthy again.
Right.
I used to say "the Klitschko brothers!"...but after Sanders' and Brewster's brutal expose' of Wlad's chin...I'd have to concur with Lennox's trusted rght hand that Vitali's chin is for REAL!
Vitali it is.
Hey i hate Ruiz's style just as much as the next man, but he wins fights, and thats whats matters. Those are 4 really good fighters you named off, and he won against all of them, the only one i thought he could beat was Oquendo
Good wins in their previous 5 fights:
Johnson: Maskaev and Donald
Oquendo: doesn't have any good wins period besides a 6 round UD over a young Dokiwari, but then again I'm not even sure how good this guy is after getting dominated by Guinn.
Holyfield: good win over Ruiz. Moorer doesn't count because it was way too many years before Ruiz.
Rahman: beat Lewis and then went winless before getting a title shot
