MAB - EM III was a frickin great fight. The display of ability, endurance, heart and will made it unique. Michael Katz, one of the most respected boxing scribes, said right after the fight that MAB - EM III was probably the best bout he had EVER seen.
Pac - JMM was a very good scrap, but after the first round it became kind of predictable. As a fan, you knew what was coming -Pac attacking and getting pounded by JMM's counters immediately after. It was a great display of power by Pac and a great display of technique by JMM.
MAB - EM III just had it all.
well i respect your opinion about that but i just dont think we're seeing it the same way. EM-MAB did not had it all. everything you said about EM-MAB fight was even well emphasized in Pac-JMM fight. the abilities (boxing skills and power punches), the endurance (it lasted 12 rounds that both were still exchanging punches that rounds can be scored either way), heart (damn have you seen how JMM got back after being KD 3x in the 1st round with a busted nose and Pacman giving his best despite his injured left hand and blistered toe?), will (both gave everything they've got that no one person could realy justify that one deserves to win over the other and that made the decision good enough for most spectators). but i did not see in EM-MAB the kind of power we saw in Pac-JMM curtesy of Pac and niether the kind of technique that JMM showed or in short EM-MAB didn't realy come close to how great Pac-JMM fight was. IMO, niether EM nor MAB could even beat any of the two (Pac and JMM). :)
i just dont think you got the point of those comments. well let me just bring it to you anyway. Top Rank and EM was planning to move up after chosing a bout with MAB III and havent mentioned any plans on taking Pacman. then most Pac fans made those comments hoping it would reach EM and just to make him stay in his division to fight Pacaman. and now here they are getting ready to a fight that was ignited by Pac fans. should you be more thankful that its now gonna happen? :D :D btw, it may have won the fight of the year but i believe it did only coz of they're history of rivalry and not coz of the fight they've put up. IMHO, it still should have been Pac-JMM that was the fight of the year. EM-MAB is nothing compared to PAC-JMM fight with all the blood, KDs, display of techniques etc. and was so close that it ended as a draw. while in EM-MAB, it was so obvious that MAB dominated EM. this is why there's no point of taking any words back. :D

Looking back at this thread, it's funny how most folks (PacMan fans, obviously) thought MAB - EM III was gonna be a boring fight, and that EM should grow balls and face Manny, and the likes.
5 months and a Fight Of The Year later, I guess most of them would like to take their words back.

Oh right right right
so you respond to a question I didn't ask.
I asked you about watching his skill not if you wanted to see a 3rd MAB/morales fight
ahhh...posts can be misinterpreted.
about watching his skill...I thought I answered that 3 times
Anyweeyz, I'm done here.
your the one contradicting yourself
in this post you say your looking to see if Morales does any of these things
then you answered with this when I asked if you have ever seen Morales
so in one post you say you want to see if Morales could do any of this stuff, then I respond with have you ever seen him fight and you come back with Who said I was looking for that stuff.
what!?!
and the quote is from a bet.
Like I said that was then this is now. I want to know how he is in his last fight. When I said "Who the heck said that's what I wanted to see" I was refering to the MAB/Morales cuz I wanted Pac/Morales. That was after you asked me why I wanted to see it if they fought twice already! It's like talking to a kid...Am I clear enough Sherlock?
I know about the bet. You called DLH unanimous or split eh? I guess we can't always be right with our predictions.
your the one contradicting yourself
Would Morales throw weak punches? Would he try to fight slow? No. His power and speed are two things I would like to see. Is he fast on his feet? Would he avoid punches well? These elements are there no matter what style he's fighting in or what what style he is fighting against.

I've seen probably 5-6 Morales' fights. What's your point? Who the heck said that that's what I wanted to see? I'm just saying that even though Pac aint fighting Morales, and MAB is fighting Morales then I'd still see the fight.
Hmm I don't agree with what you say so I ignore logic...nice...

I just dont get you guys
I mean have you never seen Morales fight before? If you want to see him fight MAB hell they have fought twice already. Its not like he is some kid who has just come on the scene the guy has had 47 fights and 19 world title fights.
You don't make sense anymore.

again nice quote.
its alright, only time will tell... my prediction is Pac goes down in the 8th gets back up to be put back down and not get up.
Dont bother the Pac fans are just good for ignoring logic and making Pac avatars.

hmmm..naahh...you just forgot. Nice quote :)

Morales gets the first clear knockdown of his career. Pac wins, ref stops the fight.
Yes considering Morales will fight a different fight against Pac than he would against MAB cause Pac and MAB are two fighters who fight in completely different ways.
must be

why would you want to see how Morales would do aginst MAB when they have already fought twice?
never said it was impossible for Pac to beat Morales, what I said was thay you cant judge how a fighter will do against someone by looking at what they did against common oponents.
Oh ok the ref just missed it.Dont seem to remember that, but I'll take your word for it.
He was DQ'ed cause his corner man jumped into the ring to stop the fight while MAB was helpless and Jones was tee'ing off on him.
Re: Morales/MAB That was then this is now.
why do you think I'm studying both boxer's styles. If Pac beats Morales, would I have been wrong in using MAB as a measuring stick?
As for the knockdown. Yeah you seem to have forgotten it. Or maybe I'm just dreaming like Merchant, Lampley and Steward after seeing the instant replay on three different angles slow motion. Yeah that must be it..
Ah I see. I only saw the rematch. Still, MAB took a baad beating

Meaning to me that you wanted to watch MAB/Morales to see how Morales would do against MAB and compare how Pac did to how Morales did. Did I get the wrong impresion from this?
I take from that comment you never seen the 1st Junior Jones fight? Pac did not knock MAB down 3 times he knocked him down 2 times and stopped him in round 11, Jones knocked MAB down 2 times and stopped him in round 5.
Jones beat him up worse.
No, to see Morales' technique. How he would do against what MAB would throw at him, his power, speed. Morales would be in good shape. Then I can properly compare both boxers. I make a lil effort b4 throwing blind predictions.
Morales beat Barrera, Morales, beat Jones. It goes both ways so it ain't impossible. So if Pac can beat MAB, he can beat Morales..what you saying it's impossible??
Mab was knocked down once in the third. The sixth round ruled non-knockdown was a knockdown that wasn't called. A punch that brings you to the ground is a knockdown. Did you even see it?
That ref don't know shit, even gave a KD against pac when he slipped. Ridiculous.
And wasn't MAB DQed?
you said
Gotta see Morales/MAB. Only to see how Morales' fair for the Pac match.

Never said just because Pac beats MAB, Pac beats Morales. I said that Pac has the tools and favorable factors to be able to beat Morales. Not to give Pac a chance is just dumb.
We use MAB as a measuring stick because of how he got beat by PAC. No one, not Jones, not Morales, has ever beaten MAB like PAC. No one outscored him with 7-9 point deficit in the judges cards and no one has knocked Barrera down 3 times in a match. MAB took the worst beating of his career. At least for me, it's draws questions on exactly how he would fare against Morales.
