As rising superstar Katie Taylor moves up in weight, Anthony Crolla prepares to move on from the sport. Perhaps the retirement tour has begun a bit early for Crolla, who was the only boxer to miss weight for Saturday's show at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Still, the card moves forward as planned as everyone else did their part at the scales. Headlining the bill, Ireland's Taylor moves up in weight as the unbeaten World lightweight champion squares off with reigning junior welterweight titlist Christina Linardatou.

Katie Taylor and Christina Linardatou are not only advocates for a cleaner sport; they are also willing to lead by example. BoxingScene.com has learned that the upcoming junior welterweight title fight—which headlines a Nov. 2 show at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England airing live on DAZN in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom—marks the first-ever fight between female boxers to be subject to full pre-fight random drug testing specifically contracted through Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency. Both boxers enrolled in the program upon agreeing to terms for their bout, which will be for Linardatou’s 140-pound title.
Irish boxer Katie Taylor wants to fight Delfine Persoon again next summer and deliver a performance that will "shut everyone up" as she continues in her aim to be known as "the best ever". Taylor became undisputed lightweight champion in June when she beat Belgium's Persoon at Madison Square Garden, claiming the WBC belt to add to the WBA, IBF and WBO ones already in her possession.

The 31-year-old Linardatou, a native of the Dominican Republic, captured the vacant WBO 140-pound world title on March 24, with a sixth-round knockout of previously undefeated, #1-ranked contender Kandi Wyatt in Athens. The fight was the first boxing world championship contest in the country's history. Following up on her world title victory, Linardatou successfully made her first defense on June 7 winning a 10-round unanimous decision against unbeaten challenger Deanha Hobbs at the Olympic Hall Galatsi in Athens.
