Christian Thun: record, next fight and profile →
The heavyweight division has always been the land of opportunity but there has never been a better time to be a young, talented big man. And, although he seems to have been around for years, at 30 years old, Hughie Fury remains young in heavyweight terms.
Hughie Fury returns on September 27 in Sheffield against Christian Thun. Fury is 28-3 (16 KOs) and the 29-year-old heavyweight, from Manchester, will headline a GBM Sports show at the Canon Medical Arena.
Curtis Harper stuck around in the ring long enough to take out an unbeaten heavyweight. A third-round knockdown and a late point deduction proved too much for Christian Thun to overcome, as Harper earned an eight-round, majority decision win. Scores of 78-72 and 76-73 in favor of Harper overruled an even 75-75 tally to produce the sizeable upset in their eight-round heavyweight battle Saturday evening on ProBox TV from Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Florida.
The full undercard has been revealed for the next ProBox TV show. The previously announced headliner pits rising junior welterweight Cesar Francis (10-0, 6KOs) against former lightweight titlist Raymundo Beltran (37-9-1, 23KOs) on the July 9 show from ProBox Events Center in Plant City, Florida. In the televised co-feature, German heavyweight Christian Thun (8-0, 6 KOs) is set it to return in an eight-round bout against Curtis Harper (13-8, 9 KOs).
Panamanian contender Cesar Francis (10-0, 6 KOs) scored a 10-round unanimous decision win against Mohamed Mimoune (22-5, 3 KOs) of Toulouse, France in the main event of a ProBox Promotions show on Friday night in Plant City, Florida.
Christian Thun (7-0, 5 KOs) of Schwelm, Germany and Amron Sands (11-1, 9 KOs) of Orlando, Florida will meet in a heavyweight battle in the eight-round co-feature to Mimoune vs. Francis on Friday, March 25. The event, which also will feature a stacked card of undefeated prospects, will take place at the ProBox Events Center in Plant City, Florida. Streaming information will be announced shortly.
