Cesar Seda Leaves Golden Boy, Signs With Al Haymon

By Rey Colon

Add another name to the list, super bantamweight contender Cesar Seda (26-2, 17 KO's) has parted ways with promoter Golden Boy Promotions and signed a three year agreement with manager/adviser Al Haymon. Since the start of the year, BoxingScene.com has reported multiple Haymon signings - including  Juan Carlos Payano, Artur Szpilka, Erickson Lubin, Dennis Galarza and Dauren Yeleussinov .

The information was confirmed by the boxer's father and trainer, Cesar Seda Sr., who says his son has a tentative return date of March 7th.

"The relationship with Golden Boy was terminated. We requested a release for breach of contract and reached a mutual agreement to [part ways]. We began discussions with Haymon and by end of December we signed contract. And we have a tentative date to fight on March 7. The deal is for three years," Seda Sr. said.

The fight in March will be at 122, but they are not ruling out a drop in weight to fight WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda, who also has a deal with Haymon.

"This fight will be at 122 but 118 [is not being ruled out]. [In that division is] Tomoki Kameda [is an option]. We don't rule out going down to 118," Seda Sr. said.
