Nottingham star Carl Froch has exploded on his rival Andre Ward. During a recent interview, Ward said that he was more than willing to fight Froch on UK soil - but not in Nottingham. Ward said he was open to traveling over to fight Froch at London's Wembley Stadium, where last May Froch had 80,000 fans watch him score a knockout victory over George Groves in their rematch. In 2011, Ward won a twelve round decision over Froch in the finals of the Super Six tournament in Atlantic City. Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch, 37-years-old, is still undecided as to the future of his pro career. Froch has a lot of offers out there, from Gennady Golovkin, Andre Ward, James DeGale and several other in a loaded 168-pound division. Froch has been out of the ring since last May's knockout of George Groves before a record crowd of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London. He was planning to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. this past March in Las Vegas, but suffered an injury and withdrew. Then Chavez was completely off the table after the Mexican fighter was upset with a knockout loss in April.

WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) says he was very open to facing Carl Froch in a rematch, but claims the Nottingham fighter never wanted it to happen. Earlier this year, the WBA ordered Ward to defend his belt against Froch, who held the WBA's 'regular' title at the weight. Ward was open to the fight, and even entertained the idea of traveling to do the fight at Wembley Stadium. But Ward was turned off after Froch changed his tune and wanted the fight in his backyard of Nottingham.

The pride of Wales, Joe Calzaghe, is still very confident that he would beaten down Carl Froch many years ago. The two fighters often exchanged words when Froch was coming up in the ranks and first capture the WBC super middleweight title six years ago. At the time Calzaghe had already moved up to the light heavyweight division and was chasing fights in America, with Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. Recently Calzaghe and Froch renewed their domestic rivalry, as they traded words on the social networks. Calzaghe has been retired for since 2009 and has no plans to return for Froch, who himself is on the edge of announcing his retirement.

Carl Froch's warrior credentials are assured regardless of who he faces next, but it would leave a nagging sense of disappointment were he to choose James DeGale over Gennady Golovkin for his final fight. Froch is considering exiting semi-retirement - he has been inactive for a year - to meet either domestic rival and IBF champion DeGale or feared Kazakhstani knockout specialist Golovkin. DeGale is the safe option both in business and competitive terms, guaranteeing crossover appeal and a large paycheck while offering less potential for an inglorious end to an otherwise magnificent career.
