Carl Frampton: record, next fight and profile →
According to BBC Sport, there is a going to be a battle of former world champions when Carl Frampton and Isaac Dogboe collide in California on the 30th of November. Last month, Frampton pulled out of a bout against Emmanuel Dominguez. He suffered a freak hand injury after a hotel lobby structure fell on his hand and created an injury, only a few days before that fight was scheduled to happen.
Carl Frampton is planning on another assault at world level before he retires. The Belfast featherweight was due to fight in Philadelphia earlier this month where victory over Emmanuel Dominguez was meant to set him up for a pre-Christmas world title fight.
Michael Conlan has poured water on the idea of a clash against Carl Frampton. The WBO Inter-Continental and WBA Inter-Continental featherweight champion claimed the latter of his two titles earlier this month. Conlan starred at the Feile on Phobail festival at Falls Park in Belfast on August 3, exclusively live on BT Sport in the UK, when he stopped Diego Alberto Ruiz in the ninth of 10 scheduled rounds.
Carl Frampton is embarrassed, but he’s not lying. That’s the message Frampton delivered to ESPN’s Mark Kriegel during their sit-down interview available on the cable network’s website. Northern Ireland’s Frampton realizes that the unusual story of how he suffered a broken hand Monday in Philadelphia sounds “ridiculous,” but it’s exactly what happened to him in the lobby of his hotel.
Former two division world champion Carl Frampton is not looking to waste any further time in his career. He was scheduled to fight this coming Saturday night Emmanuel Dominguez in Philadelphia, but the contest was ruled out on Monday - after Frampton indicated that he suffered a serious hand injury when a hotel ornament was knocked over and landed right on his hand, which suffered two fractures.
Irish star Micheal Conlan is aiming to eventually get a crack at the IBF featherweight world champion, Josh Warrington. This past Saturday night, Conlan topped a Stadium bill at the Feile, and stopped an overmatched Diego Alberto Ruiz.
As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Carl “The Jackal” Frampton was forced to drop out of Saturday’s featherweight main event against Emmanuel Dominguez at the Liacouras Center after fracturing the fifth metacarpal in his left hand.
In his quest to return to the title stage, Carl Frampton caught a break—just not the type that leads to anything positive. The former two-division titlist suffered an untimely hand injury on Monday, a source from within the boxer’s camp has informed BoxingScene.com. The severity of the injury is still to be determined, but is enough to force him out of Saturday’s ESPN+ headliner in Philadelphia, Pa.
Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes former two division world champion Carl Frampton, says the boxer has a quicker path to a world title if he decides to move up in weight to the super featherweight limit of 130-pounds.
Emmanuel Dominguez doesn’t think Carl Frampton is taking him seriously. Frampton’s upcoming opponent suspects that the former featherweight and super bantamweight champion has his sights set on a shot at WBO featherweight champ Oscar Valdez later this year, not their fight next month. The bout between Northern Ireland’s Frampton (26-2, 15 KOs) and Mexico’s Dominguez (26-8-2, 18 KOs), scheduled for August 10 in Philadelphia, was officially announced Tuesday morning by Top Rank Inc., Frampton’s co-promoter.
