At Ulster Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland, red-hot Belfast native Carl Frampton (8-0, 5 KOs) captured a vacant Celtic super bantamweight title with a prompt destruction of journeyman Gavin Reid (6-8-2, 3 KOs) in two one-sided rounds. Frampton, who is highly touted in Northern Britain, just couldn't miss his opponent with the potent right hand. He landed several huge haymakers in the first but Scottish Reid withstood a storm. The end came in the second stanza though, when Frampton connected with more and more right bombs and forced a referee to step in and to save still-standing Reid from further punishment. Official time was 2:29.

Irish welterweight Stephen Haughian improved his record to 20-2-1, 8 KOs, after a dominating performance against Englishman Dave Ryan (9-4, 2 KOs). Haughian was better in every department but it wasn't a one-sided fight. BScene's Alexey Uralets had it 79-73 - for the winner, while the referee, who was also a sole judge of the contest, had it 78-74 - for the occasional winner.
