David Benavidez does not understand why Caleb Plant would not commit to fighting him later this year. Earlier this month, Benavidez’s father generated some commotion when he announced that he reached out to Plant’s team about fighting his son in the fall.
David Benavidez continues to fan the flames for a renewed rivalry with Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant. There was never any love lost between the two during their overlapping super middleweight title reigns, though it unfortunately never materialized into a unification bout.
David Benavidez and his team now claim there is no path to a fight with Caleb Plant in September. They are not wrong about that, though not for the suggested reasons.
