LAS VEGAS – Bryant Perrella wore a turquoise, sequined suit jacket into the ring Saturday night, but he didn’t exactly out-class prospect Kevin Salgado.

Almost a year later, Bryant Perrella still can’t understand how only one judge had him beating Tony Harrison. Perrella settled for a split draw with the former WBC super welterweight champion in their 12-round, 154-pound fight last April 17 at Shrine Auditorium & Exposition Hall in Los Angeles. The southpaw from Fort Myers, Florida, landed 12 more punches overall than Harrison (150 to 138) and threw 239 more shots (692 to 453), according to CompuBox’s unofficial statistics, but judge Max De Luca scored eight rounds for Harrison (116-112).

LAS VEGAS – A confident Kevin Salgado smiled, as if he knows something Bryant Perrella and unfamiliar fans are about to learn Saturday night.

LAS VEGAS – Sebastian Fundora amazingly made the 154-pound limit with ease yet again Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-6 Fundora, absurdly tall for the junior middleweight division, stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 152.8 pounds at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. A significantly shorter Erickson Lubin, who stands 5-foot-9½, officially weighed in at 153.2 pounds for their 12-round fight Saturday night for the WBC interim super welterweight title.

Bryant Perrella is scheduled to fight in the same ring as Tony Harrison on Saturday night. Perrella gets the sense, though, that boxing in the bout before Harrison competes in Showtime’s co-feature at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is as close as he’ll come to sharing the ring with the former WBC super welterweight champion again. Harrison and Perrella fought to a controversial split draw last April 17 at Shrine Auditorium & Exposition Hall in Los Angeles.

Showtime and Premier Boxing Champions announced a much-discussed spring and early-summer schedule Tuesday. The loaded slate of fights includes seven PBC cards that’ll air live on Showtime and two Showtime Pay-Per-View events, which will feature Errol Spence Jr. and Gervonta “Tank” Davis. From March 26 through July 9, the PBC/Showtime schedule will be highlighted by seven world championship matches, including two title unification fights, and three title eliminators.
