After his humiliating knockout loss at the hands of Timothy Bradley on November 7th, Brandon 'Bam Bam' Rios abruptly announced his retirement from the sport inside the ring of the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, as he spoke to HBO's Max Kellerman.

Well this being boxing, Rios has quickly changed course and will resume his career.

"He's willing to fight anybody, he always was. He didn't train at all for the last fight because he had to lose 55, 60 pounds and he thought he could do it and it was a mistake," said his manager, Cameron Dunkin.

"There's no doubt he made a mistake and he's sorry about that but he doesn't want to go out like this and he'll fight (Ruslan) Provodnikov, he'll fight whoever they want him to."

On January 24th, Rios (33-3-1, 24KOs) stopped Mike Alvarado in their rubbermatch but was sidelined till early November. During that span, Rios got rather rotund, putting on excess poundage he had to sweat off to get to the welterweight limit as he fought for the WBO belt.

"He's going to get his weight down to '47 and then he's going to talk,'' promised Dunkin.

"But he's not going to say anything until he can step on the scale in front of everyone and say,'Look, I'm 147, I'm ready to fight, I'm ready to go and get me a fight.'"

The question is will HBO take another roll of the dice on Rios? There's a chance he may have have a tune-up fight or two on a smaller - and less lucrative - platform to rebuild his credibility.

"He'd take a tune-up if that's what he has to do but he'd also fight the toughest guy out there - he'll do either one,"insisted Dunkin.
