Contrary to some of the misinformation being reported by several outlets, Denis Boytsov has not finalized a deal to face Dereck Chisora on September 21 at Copper Box in the UK, with the vacant European title (EBU) at stake. Boytsov rejected the idea of facing Chisora next. He wants to take an interim-fight and then discuss the possibility of a Chisora match. The undefeated contender recently signed a promotional agreement with Sauerland Event.
"The fight with Chisora is being planned, but not in September as it was written in the press. I need an interim bout before meeting with Chisora. The tentative date of my next fight is September 14. As far as the opponent, I can't really say at the moment. My team proposed a fight with a very tall American, but he refused to box with me and now we are looking for another opponent," Boytsov said.
