Former welterweight champion Andre Berto recently spoke to BoxingScene.com about his planned September return to the ring.

Berto has been out of the ring since he injured his shoulder in his TKO loss to Jesus Soto Karass last summer. He said that he is fully healed and that he still has a bright future ahead of him.

"I've been out for a year but these injuries have healed up great so I am back in September. Everything is in the future for me. Everything's right there for me. It is exciting, man," Berto told BoxingScene.com.

The Florida native was asked by HustleBoss.com/BoxingScene.com

reporter Chris Robinson to break down the September 13th Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana rematch. Berto said that he expects another great fight but that he expects to see an even better Mayweather.

"I think Mayweather is going to come in there with a lot more focus, with a lot more to prove. He is going to be sharp. I think Maidana is going to be the same old Maidana. He's going to go in there as try to chop him down," Berto stated.
