WBC heavyweight Silver Champion Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20KOs) is vowing "to take a chance," and go for broke, when he fights supreme champion Vitali Klitschko early next year. At the WBC's annual convention, which this year being held in Bangkok, Thailand, it was agreed that Vitali, who is still recovering from a hand injury, has until November 30th, to make his mind up about what he's going to do, and announce it. Softly spoken and genial outside ring hours Bermane, who came a long distance to reach the Thai Capitol, already has a mindset strategy and has set an impacting, exacting collison course for the future would be President of Ukraine.

The WBC's mandatory challenger, Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20KOs) is not even contemplating a rematch with Chris Arreola (36-3, 31KOs). Stiverne wants to wait until the WBC's heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41KOs), reveals whether or not he plans to keep fighting. There is a chance that Vitali, 42-years-old, will retire to pursue a full-time career in politics. Vitali has been inactive since a TKO of Manuel Charr in September of 2012. He is not expected to fight again until the first half of 2014.

Now, the WBC has announced that the 42-year-old Klitschko has suffered an injury to his right hand and he won't return to the ring until 2014. The World Boxing Council have announced that WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is suffering from an injury to his right hand and won't return to the ring until 2014. Klitschko (45-2, 41 KOs), 42-years-old, was ordered to fight mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20KOs). The purse bid was postponed several times. Vitali has been inactive since last September's TKO victory of Manuel Charr in Russia. The WBC will not make a decision on Vitali's championship status until the first quarter of 2014.

OTTAWA, Canada -- When heavyweight contender Bermane "B. Ware" Stiverne (21-1, 20 KOs) upset Chris Arreola (35-3, 30 KOs) on HBO this past April 27, in a title elimination bout, it set-up the dangerous Canadian for a super fight versus future Hall of Famer and long-time World Boxing Council (WBC) World Heavyweight Champion, Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KOs). Stiverne completely dominated former world title challenger Arreola, dropping him in the third round, en route to a unanimous 12-round decision (118-109, 117-110, 117-110) for the vacant WBC Silver title. A purse bid was set and postponed, reset and re-postponed. Finally, July 22 was supposed to be the final purse bid date when, surprisingly, the WBC once again granted another extension requested by the Team Klitschko, forcing the mandatory challenger to wait once again for his world title shot that he has now earned twice by winning a pair "title elimination" bouts. WBO No. 1 contender Stiverne, who is also rated No. 10 in the world by The Ring Magazine, had knocked out Ray Austin in the 10th round of their WBC heavyweight title eliminator on June 25, 2011.

The negotiations continue for a match between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 41 KOs) and mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne (23-1-1, 20 KOs). If they are unable to reach an agreement, the World Boxing Council has scheduled a purse bid for June 3rd. The main issue preventing a finalized agreement is money. As we previously reported, Stiverne's promoter, Don King, requested a purse of $2 million for his fighter and he also wants the television rights to broadcast the fight in the United States.

Less than a week removed from his biggest career win to date, Bermane Stiverne has been delivered his most promising news as a professional prizefighter. Negotiations are officially underway for the once beaten heavyweight contender to next face Vitali Klitschko for a heavyweight title. The WBC notified both camps that Stiverne is now the official mandatory challenger, thanks to his HBO-televised 12-round rout over Chris Arreola on the road last weekend in Ontario, California. The two sides will have 30-days to work out an agreement, or else the proposed bout will head to a purse bid on June 3 at the WBC headquarters in Mexico City.
