Junior welterweight contenders Shohjahon Ergashev and Batyrzhan Jukembayev will face off in a crossroads bout on May 9 at Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Batyrzhan Jukembayev wasn't provided much resistance by Ivan Redkach on Wednesday in Plant City, Florida, but his fifth-round stoppage victory assured that he maintains his foothold in a loaded 140-pound division.

ProBox TV returns tomorrow with Wednesday Night Fights. The card takes place at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, and will be headlined by junior welterweight contender Batyrzhan Jukembayev taking on Ivan Redkach.

Junior welterweight Batyrzhan Jukembayev will face Ivan Redkach on May 22 in the main event of Wednesday Night Fights on ProBox TV. The bout is set to headline a night of 50-50 fights, beginning at 8 PM EST.

Batyr Jukembayev turned away a persistent Mohamed Mimoune to earn his latest victory. A ten-round battle of junior welterweight southpaws saw the Montreal-based Kazakh boxer earn a unanimous decision victory. Jukembayev prevailed by scores of 98-92, 98-92, 99-91 in the ProBox TV main event Wednesday evening from Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Florida.

Russian southpaw Arthur Biyarslanov didn’t even need three minutes to knock out Alan Ayala on Friday night in Montreal. The junior welterweight prospect dropped Ayala twice in the first round on his way to a first-round knockout on the Artur Beterbiev-Marcus Browne undercard at Bell Centre. Biyarslanov, who settled for a majority-decision victory over Israel Mercado in his previous bout, improved to 9-0 and recorded his seventh knockout.

Artur Beterbiev stripped naked the first time he stepped on the scale Thursday afternoon in Montreal. It didn’t help his cause, as the defending IBF/WBC light heavyweight champion still came in slightly overweight, 175.2 pounds, for his 12-round, 175-pound championship match against Marcus Browne on Friday night at Bell Centre. The Russian-born, Montreal-based Beterbiev was given two hours to weigh in at 175 pounds or less for his fight with Browne, who officially weighed 174.6 pounds.

Showtime drew almost the same viewership for its main event Saturday night as the premium cable network maintained two weeks earlier. Nielsen Media Research revealed Wednesday that an average of 217,000 viewers watched Nonito Donaire’s fourth-round knockout of Nordine Oubaali. The 38-year-old Donaire dropped the previously undefeated French southpaw three times, twice in the third round and once in the fourth round, before their scheduled 12-round, 118-pound championship match was stopped by referee Jack Reiss at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

CARSON, Calif. – Subriel Matias has racked up enough knockouts to know when his opponent is ready to go and when there is still some fight left. Both experiences came into play in his recent stoppage win over Kazakhstan’s Batyrzhan Jukembayev
