Miyo Yoshida uprooted her whole life looking for change and last December she got it when she won her third world title in the most unlikely of ways.

Another challenger coming off a loss has been lined up to face Ebanie Bridges. BoxingScene.com has learned that former two-time junior bantamweight titlist Miyo Yoshida has been secured to challenge Australia’s Bridges for her IBF bantamweight belt. The fight was made one day after it was confirmed that Sydney’s Avril Mathie was forced to withdraw from the December 9 clash due to an undisclosed injury.

Ebanie Bridges will have a new challenger for her U.S. return. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that Avril Mathie has suffered an undisclosed injury and was pulled from what would have been her first career title fight. Their bout was due to appear on the undercard of the Regis Prograis-Devin Haney DAZN Pay-Per-View on December 9 at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Liam Paro and Montana Love will clash for the WBO Global junior welterweight title, Cuban star Andy Cruz returns against Hector Tanajara and Ebanie Bridges defends her IBF world bantamweight title against fellow Australian Avril Mathie on the undercard of the blockbuster WBC 140lb title clash between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis at Chase Center in San Francisco on December 9, live on DAZN PPV in North America and on DAZN worldwide.

NEW YORK – Ramla Ali out-boxed an undefeated fighter Saturday night to move closer toward a 122-pound title shot. The Somalian contender scored a unanimous points victory against Australia’s Avril Mathie in their 10-round IBF junior featherweight elimination match at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater. Judges Tom Carisone, Max De Luca and Kevin Morgan favored Ali’s work by the identical score of 99-91 on the Amanda Serrano-Erika Cruz undercard.

Amanda Serrano has won world titles in seven divisions on her way to becoming one of the biggest stars in women’s boxing. She is expected to fight undisputed champion Katie Taylor at the lightweight limit of 135 pounds for the second time May 20 in Dublin, but Serrano admits that she is most comfortable boxing as a featherweight. The 34-year-old Serrano showed yet again Friday that she can continue to make the 126-pound maximum for her division.

As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, Amanda Serrano will face Erika Cruz in a Puerto Rico vs. Mexican battle for the Undisputed World Featherweight championship and Alycia Baumgardner takes on Elhem Mekhaled for the Undisputed World Super-Featherweight championship at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday February 4, exclusively live worldwide on DAZN.

A little over a week and a half out from her Saturday fight against Judit Hachbold in Atlanta, Avril Mathie was in a Home Depot in her adopted home state of Florida, continuing various home improvement tasks that have kept her busy between training sessions.

It was a quick night’s work for Thor Bjornsson, who sent out a warning to strongman rival Eddie Hall. He picked up a first round stoppage win over arm-wrestling legend Devon Larratt in Dubai on Saturday.

Tyrone McCullagh is zeroing in on WBO European title rival Josh Kennedy ahead of their hotly-anticipated clash at Belfast’s Titanic Exhibition Centre on October 5. ‘White Chocolate’ won the Celtic super-bantamweight crown last time out and steps up again to face another 11-0 fighter in Kentish visitor Kennedy, who is covered in body art.
