Zulina Muñoz successfully retained her WBC super flyweight title for the fourth time over Argentine Marisa Portillo in a chilly Toluca, Mexico. Muñoz landed great combinations on her challenger, causing hurt and Marisa resorted to a clinchfest, trying to avoid more of the same. So after warnings, she was docked a point in the sixth and then seventh round. Referee Curtis Trasher then decided to stop the fight after the insistence of Portillo to keep clinching. Zulina improved her record to 37-1-2, 26 KO’s while Portillo dropped to 14-9-2, 3 KO’s.
