New York—A former heavyweight champion will serve as advisor to a potential future champion. Former five-time, undisputed heavyweight kingpin Evander Holyfield has been named the good will “Ambassador” for Dynasty Boxing and its boxers, and will serve as a special advisor to Chinese heavyweight Olympic Silver-medalist Zhang Zhilei. The announcement was made by Dynasty President Dino Duva, and Vice Presidents Tommy and Terry Lane.
Holyfield, who is an icon in China, will also be a marketing partner.
The “Real Deal” will share his boxing insights from with Zhilei and Dynasty’s stable of Chinese imports as they make the transition from the amateur to the professional ranks. Zhilei will makes his professional debut on August 8. Holyfield will be Dynasty’s Ambassador at public events throughout the country.
During a storied career, Holyfield holds notable wins over such champions as George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Riddick Bowe, Ray Mercer, Mike Tyson and Michael Moorer. He is the only four-time World Heavyweight Champion, winning the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles in 1990, the WBA and IBF titles in 1993 and the WBA title in 1996 and 2000. He beat Francios Botha in April 2010 for the WBF and his fifth title.
