Puerto Rican prospect Xander Zayas is getting ready for his next fight, which takes place at the MGM Grand's Conference Center in Las Vegas, on February 20 when he faces James Martin (6-1).

"I'm super grateful for the opportunity to fight in the 'bubble.' I'm ready to put on an excellent show and get in the ring fight to teach people the things that I have been working on and show that I have grown as a boxer,” shared Zayas from his residence in Sunrise, Florida, to Carlos Gonzalez.

The 18-year-old, 6-0 with five knockouts, will fight over the six round distance.

“I've worked super well, prepared to do all six rounds if necessary to finish 2021 with eight round [fights],” Zayas said. “I have grown and matured as a fighter and a person. I see things differently in the ring. I believe during my first year in professional boxing the most important thing has been to grow and continue learning as a fighter."

Over the past few weeks, Zayas shared the ring with former world champion Adrien Broner as well as 135-pound champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

“It has been a super good experience. I have learned as a boxer, they have given me advice and I am grateful. I have been like a sponge absorbing and learning all the good things I can from them, things that will make me grow at the end of the day,” said Zayas.

In the preliminary fight portion of the event, there will be other Puerto Rican talents such as Frevian González (4-0, 1 KO) taking on Mexico's Bryan Lua (7-0, 3 KO). In addition, Cagueno Omar Rosario (2-0) will debut in Las Vegas in a four-round fight against Uriel Villanueva (1-0) in the welterweight division (147 pounds).
