BoxingScene.com and other members of the media recently caught up with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33KOs). The Alabama native and top contender Tyson Fury have engaged in a war of words over the social networks in recent years and appeared on a collision course to meet in the ring.

Fury is now Wladimir Klitschko's mandatory challenger and a purse bid has been set for July 6th. Klitschko will be a big favorite in the fight but Wilder insists that Fury shouldn't be slept on in the fight and feels the 6'9" Irishman's fight could cause him major problems.

"You don't really see Klitschko fight taller fighters.  The thing I have been doing is trying to fight taller fighters for when the situation arrives.  You get used to throwing punches downward instead of chest high or higher.  You are going to see that Tyson is a much taller guy and he likes to lean on people himself. When it happens it is going to be an interesting fight and come down to who is the smartest in the ring.

"Of course Klitschko is going to be the expert in the ring but this is boxing.  Anything can happen.  You can get hit unexpectedly and you never know how the fighter will react. Tyson definitely has a winning chance for sure," Wilder explained.
