WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder expects Andy Ruiz to be just as hungry for his upcoming rematch with Anthony Joshua.
Ruiz will defend the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO heavyweight titles against Joshua on December 7th in Saudi Arabia.
Back on June 1, Ruiz shocked the sport when he dropped Joshua four times to secure a seventh round stoppage.
But some have questioned the hunger of Ruiz, after he was photographed with a brand new luxury car, and bought himself a mansion and very expensive jewelry.
Wilder is not one of those critics. He views Ruiz as being an even hungrier fighter with the post-fight success.
"I am [Ruiz to win]. Ruiz Jr has all the motivation and confidence that he needs from the first fight," Wilder said to Sky Sports.
"I don't think he is one to dwell after obtaining a little taste of success. This is just the beginning, especially when you become a champion.
"You've got to stay hungry. My man Marvin Hagler said you can't get out of bed in silk pyjamas, but with the win, it was a big boost, and he has the Mexican people around him."
Ruiz has already expressed interest in facing Wilder in the future. Ruiz would have to win in December, and Wilder would have to overcome Luis Ortiz on Saturday night in Las Vegas, and then defeat Tyson Fury in a slated February rematch.
"Of course, I'm just missing one belt," said Ruiz. "One belt to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and that's the goal, but I don't want to look past Anthony Joshua.
"My eyes are on the prize with him, so after I win that fight, then I can fight Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury."
