Dillian Whyte says his countryman, Dereck Chisora, only gets brave when the cameras are rolling before a sea of onlookers.
During the recent Matchroom press conference to announce their addition of Whyte (16-1, 13KOs), Chisora (25-6, 17KOs) showed up unexpectedly and confronted him in a heated war of words.
Whyte will return to the ring on June 25th as part of the Anthony Joshua vs. Dominic Breazeale undercard.
During their face-off, Whyte told Chisora to meet him somewhere, with no cameras rolling, to take care of their differences - but claims at that point Chisora backed down.
Whyte told Sky Sports: "He's an idiot. I played it cool and kept it professional. I bide my time and didn't want to go on the rampage too much.
"Dereck was screaming and shouting when the cameras were there but before the cameras were there, he wasn't. He's a strange guy; unpredictable and he gets in people's faces.
"I told him that he should meet me without any cameras and without any boxing officials. If he wants to go on like a bad man, screaming and shouting when there are cameras there then he shouldn't have a problem doing it when there are no cameras there. He backed down.
"It's a fight I've always wanted. He goes on like he's a bad man, a hard man and erratic but that's all rubbish. I want to fight him and end his career because I think the fans are tired of him stinking out the venues.
"It could be for a British title or a world title eliminator, I'll wait and see, but I definitely want to fight him and beat him up. Domestically, it's a big fight and everyone knows it's a big fight.
"I have sparred loads of rounds with Dereck. I literally came off the street and had no boxing experience when I first sparred him. Ask Spencer Fearon how that one went - he was there and he'll tell you."
