UFC President Dana White is standing hs ground on a potential cross-sport bout between Floyd Mayweather and UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In a recent interview, Khabib's manager Ali Abdelaziz made claims that Mayweather has been pressing him behind the scenes to make a fight with Khabib.

On December 31 in Japan, Mayweather took part in a three round exhibition - but he only needed two minutes to bank a first round destruction of Japanese kickboxing phenomenon Tenshin Nasukawa.

Mayweather dropped Nasukawa three times before a lively crowd at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama. After the third knockdown, Nasukawa's corner threw in the towel.

Last year, Mayweather stopped UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the 10th round of a super-hyped boxing match.

A few months, he was hinting at the idea of facing Khabib.

“Me and him have been texting each other for the last month and if he says he did not, I’m gonna put everything online. Do not lie, Floyd. He’s very much begging for the fight. I told him, I said he’s 57 years old, his body’s weak, he’s fragile, he’s got a small head. People think I’m crazy but I think Khabib would beat his ass," Abdelaziz told TMZ.

"He thinks Khabib is easy money but Khabib is much younger, much stronger, more tougher than Conor, a guy that went to the eleventh round with him. And Conor gave up, he’s a quitter. Khabib is no quitter.”

Talk of a Mayweather-Khabib contest first began a few months ago, when Khabib and Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe were both seen in a video where the UFC champion called for a clash with the undefeated boxer.

But White is not going to allow another of his stars to face Mayweather in a boxing match.

“I told [Mayweather] already if he wants to fight again, and he wants to do something like that, he’s going to have to come over here. We went over there, it’s his turn to come over here. It’s only fair," White said.

“Most people argue that he’s one of the greatest ever, so why do we keep going over there to do what he does? If you want to fight, come fight. Come take that whooping and take that money.

"Yes [I discussed a UFC deal with Mayweather], and then he ended up with all that Japan weirdness. Listen, Floyd’s in the money making business. At the end of the day, everybody would want to see it.”
