WBC Votes Maskaev as Rahman's Next Foe

The World Boxing Council has decided by a majority vote to confirm Oleg Maskaev as the next challenger to WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman.

Both fighters should agree that the winner of the Rahman vs. Maskaev fight must next fight James Toney, as voted by the Board of Governors.

The free negotiations period begins today for the Rahman vs. Maskaev mandatory defense and if no agreement is reached, a purse offer will be held on May 1, 2006, in the WBC Executive Offices in Mexico City.

He didn't lose the fight you reject, it was a draw. No matter what you say, a rematch with Toney would have been a better rout than an undeserving fighter like Maskaev fighting for the title. Banned! Oops! :rolleyes:

He MIGHT be a good fighter but we'll never know unless he takes fights bigger than he is. I honestly can never see him as a world champ! Me neither I was simply saying he is just as deserving as Maskaev........whom I also might add I can never see as champion.
