Prior to the highly anticipated challenge that Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will face against Sergey Kovalev when climbing two divisions to challenge him for the WBO light heavyweight title, the President  of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, quantifies the magnitude of the seismic task ahead.

The contest takes place this coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Saul, in every fight, demonstrates his great courage. He has done thus through the years. He is a disciplined boxer, with heart. Expending much sacrifice he has reached where he is today, at the highest level of boxing,“ said Sulaiman.

Despite the differences in the contest, as Canelo will climb two divisions trying to conquer the WBO belt, Sulaiman pointed out that the scenario of making history inspired the Mexican star to take on this Herculean labor.

“This fight with Kovalev is a very difficult step to climb up two divisions against a great champion,” Sulaiman said.
