The World Boxing Council is standing side by side with WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs).

WBC President Maurcio Sulaiman says his organization is not going to place any pressure on Mayweather to make a decision regarding his future. Mayweather is scheduled to return on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

On Monday, the World Boxing Organization stripped Mayweather of their welterweight title because he failed to pay the $200,000 sanctioning fee from the May 2nd bout with Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather also failed to vacate his WBC/WBA 154-pound titles. The WBO's rules prevent any fighter from holding titles in multiple weight divisions.

Mayweather has captured WBC world titles in five weight categories.

"There is no pressure from us [to get Mayweather's plan for his next fight]," Sulaiman said. "The WBC has had a relationship with Floyd for 17 years. He's been a champion of our organization in five divisions. He's a boxer who bears the stamp of the WBO, has won every award that you can imagine and he's been the top star of our era. I have no opinion about what others have done, they have their rules. For us, for the WBC, Mayweather is one of the most loyal fighters to the organization."

The WBC, at their annual convention which will be held in Kunming, China in November, will address the issue of Mayweather simultaneously being a champion at 147 and 154.
