In the last few days, World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman announced that his organization will not consent to a heavyweight fight between David Haye (25-2, 23 KOs) and WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KOs) - because Haye is not ranked in the top fifteen within the organization's ratings bracket.
However, Vitali would still like to get the British boxer in the ring. Vitali could return as early as June 2, or as late as September. He wants accomplish what his younger brother Wladimir failed to do in July 2011. Wladimir secured a one-sided twelve round decision win, but Vitali wants to end Haye's career with a knockout.
According to Vitali, Haye is still demanding too much money to make their fight a reality.
"It would really be an interesting fight. But Haye has to tame his appetite, because the conditions dictated by him are not acceptable given the fact that he is no longer a world champion. All the time I have to repeat this to him. If we can reach agreement and sign a contract, we shall immediately arrange a press conference," Vitali said.
