After reading the recent comments from WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, the seven-foot Russian giant, Nikolai Valuev, was enraged. Klitschko called Valuev a "chicken" for not accepting a final offer of $2.5 million dollars for a fight on May 29. The Russian giant wanted $4 million, or the offer of $2.5 and percentage of the Russian, German and American television. Klitschko has since signed to fight Albert Sosnowski of Poland.

"Valuev is chicken. We gave him the biggest financial proposal of his career – $2.5 million – and he says 'no'. He understands that if he loses this fight, that's it for a long time in his career. Because it's the money for his pension – that's why he wanted $4 million. He's not a big champion," Klitschko said.

Valuev shot back, and challenged Vitali to call him a coward in person. He issued a warning to Vitali to keep his guard up if he tries to disrespect him like this in person.

"Let Klitschko call me a coward to my face," Valuev told Sport Express.
