The biggest fight in New Zealand boxing, David Tua vs. Shane Cameron, may get pushed back even further. Cameron's hand surgery has been delayed due to a scheduling conflict with the surgeon. During a recent tune-up fight, Cameron aggravated a pre-exiting hand injury and an MRI would show damage that was significant enough to push the fight from June to August 29. The surgery was going to take place on an immediate basis but Cameron's surgeon, Tim Tasman-Jones, was backed up with other procedures and the surgery was pushed to the tentative date of April 3.

There is no exact timeline for Cameron's recovery but Manager Ken Reinsfield hopes they can still keep the new fight date of August 29. The fight, billed as "The Fight of The Century" by local promoters, has been in talks for months before the fight had actually been signed and several postponements have New Zealand fans wondering if the fight will ever take place. Reinsfield says the fight will definitely happen.
