Former champion Austin Trout is tabbing WBC 'regular' junior middleweight beltholder Erislandy Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs) to outbox Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (43-1-1, 31KOs) on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

While Trout feels Lara will get the upper hand in the contest, he doesn't expect him to get a decision unless he scores a stoppage victory and he doesn't believe Lara is capable of ending the fight early.

"I feel that Lara will out box him, but Canelo will take it," Trout told The Las Cruces Sun-News. "I don't see Lara getting a decision unless he puts [Alvarez] down and I don't think he can do that."

Trout expects a great fight and says the two boxers match up very well with each other.

"Their strengths are perfect for each other and those are the fights that make for great fights," Trout said. "Canelo has to throw combinations, which he is good at but he has to stay busy and throw more punches than he normally does. Lara can also throw combinations, but he has to utilize his footwork to get in position."
