Rising welterweight prospect Clarence Booth has inked a promotional pact with Top Rank, it was announced Wednesday afternoon.

Booth made a lasting impression on the Vegas-based promotional company after appearing on its undercard for each of his past two fights.

The fighting pride of St. Petersburg, Florida is coming off of a 1st round knockout of Osenohan Vazquez in their UniMas-televised scrap just three weeks ago in Tampa, Florida.

“Clarence Booth has great size with power and speed,” Top Rank Vice President of Operations Carl Moretti said in a press statement. “He should be a force in the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions. His fan base in the Tampa–St. Petersburg areas will make him into a major attraction.”

Booth (10-1, 6KOs) joins managerial stablemate Glen Tapia under the Top Rank banner. Both fighters are managed by Pat Lynch, best known for his extraordinary work with the late Hall of Fame all-action slugger Arturo Gatti.

“Clarence is a great young prospect with a very bright future,” believes Lynch. “He’s an extremely hard worker with a great attitude.”

All but one of Booth’s pro fights have taken place in his home state of Florida. The lone road trip came last November in Puerto Rico. He has won his last eight contests.

Details of his next fight will be revealed in the coming weeks.
