WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman won't deny that Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is going to present some problems to Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) in the early rounds - if those two were to fight - but he doesn't expect Mayweather to lose his unbeaten record when the fight concludes.
Thurman noticed some stamina issues in Khan's May victory over heavy underdog Chris Algieri. Khan came out with the victory, but he had some struggles in the second half of the contest.
He gives Khan a shot at winning some rounds, with Mayweather walking away with the victory.
"I think Amir can possible win some rounds. I don't see him winning the fight. Floyd is very strategical, very well conditioned. In the Chris Algieri fight [Khan] pretty much dominated the first four rounds. But after that he was a little easier to hit. That's my assessment of it and if I see it then Floyd sees it," Thurman said.
Thurman returns on Saturday night in a homecoming fight in Tampa, Florida. He will headline the "Premier Boxing Champions" debut on ESPN, against former champion Luis Collazo of New York City.
