The "regular" world champion of the WBA, heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin of Russia, is looking for a replacement opponent for his July comeback. WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck has offered to step in on late notice and says he can "wear pajamas to the fight and still beat Povetkin." Povetkin won a close controversial decision over Huck in February. Following the loss, Huck moved back down to cruiser and fought Ola Afolabi to a twelve round draw on May 5th. Povetkin was going to battle Hasim Rahman who withdrew with a training injury.
"Right now the fight is impossible because Huck is not ranked within the top of the WBA [as a heavyweight]," says Povetkin's manager Vladimir Hryunov. "But we are ready to meet him at any time and in any city. [Currently] there is a serious work on the organization of the fight involving Alexander Povetkin on July 21 in Moscow. "
