On October 14th, former two-division champion Devon Alexander (26-3, 14KOs) will return to the ring for the first time since losing an unanimous decision last December to Amir Khan in Las Vegas. His opponent will be rugged veteran Aaron Martinez 9194-1, 4KOs), who lost a close decision to Robert Guerrero in June.

The fight will be broadcast by ESPN on a Wednesday night as the series transitions off of Saturday evenings during college football season.

Alexander is in the second half of his training camp and looks to enter the fight in prime condition.

Martinez dropped Guerrero in their June fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. Many observers felt he did more than enough to get the nod on the scorecards.

Alexander's trainer and manager Kevin Cunningham said that they are fully aware of the danger that  Martinez represents.

"Martinez showed the world that he's a formidable opponent in his last fight. Most people thought he beat Robert Guerrero in that fight. Devon's total focus has be on Aaron Martinez," Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.
