Danny Green (31-3, 27KOs) has confirmed an earlier story on BoxingScene.com. The Australian star has finalized a deal to defend his IBO cruiserweight title against former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (28-6, 19KOs). The fight takes place on July 20 in Sydney, Australia. Green last fought in November, winning a unanimous points decision over BJ Flores at Perth's Challenge Stadium. The fight with Tarver takes place at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

"I'm in the process to go into a training camp in about four or five weeks to get ready for the toughest test of my career. Antonio Tarver is a monster of a bloke and his credentials are impeccable," Green told reporters.

Tarver also confirmed the deal to Australian reporters. He said there are no worries about Green's punching power. In 2009, Green knocked out Tarver's rival Roy Jones Jr. in one round.

"I've faced punchers before, they have to land in order to be effective so I'm not worried about that," Tarver said. "I know Danny Green is going to bring his attitude, his aggression. He's a proud fighter, so am I. So this fight makes to be a great fight."
