Middleweight prospect Tamm Thibeault will no longer be fighting on this Friday’s MVPW-02 show in New York City, as her opponent has not been able to make it into the United States on time.
According to Most Valuable Promotions, Jesus, 5-0 (3 KOs), who hails from Brazil, experienced a delay in getting her visa.
In a press release, MVP says the company is working on a new date for Thibeault, 4-0 (3 KOs), and expects to have more details in the coming weeks. It was not clear whether Jesus would remain Thibeault’s opponent.
MVPW-02, which will air on ESPN, is headlined by Alycia Baumgardner, 17-1 (7 KOs), defending her three junior lightweight titles against Bo Mi Re Shin, 19-3-3 (10 KOs), in The Theater at Madison Square Garden.
In the co-feature, unified super middleweight titleholder Shadasia Green, 16-1 (11 KOs), puts her IBF and WBO belts on the line against Lani Daniels, 11-4-2 (1 KO).
Thibeault-Jesus would have been the second bout on the main broadcast. Instead, the show’s original opening bout will move into that slot: a bantamweight fight between Krystal Rosado, 8-1 (2 KOs), and Fernanda Reyes Delgado, 8-0 (0 KOs).
The new show opener is being elevated from the prelims: an eight-round flyweight match featuring Natalie Dove, 7-0-1 (2 KOs), against Maria Micheo, 14-6 (8 KOs). The main broadcast is scheduled to kick off at 10 p.m. ET (3 a.m. BST).
The preliminary bouts will stream on ESPN+ starting at 6:30 p.m. ET (11:30 p.m. BST).
Among the prelims is a super middleweight bout between Raquel Miller, 13-0 (6 KOs), and Adriana Dos Santos Araujo, 6-3 (1 KO), who won a bronze medal at lightweight in the 2012 Olympics.
