World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman was not very impressed with the recent performance by former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who return on July 18th in El Paso, Texas and won a ten round unanimous decision over Marco "Dorado" Reyes.

Chavez Jr-Reyes was originally set for 168-pounds. Then moved to 169 and later to 170. Chavez was unable to make weight. He was very large once he entered the ring and it slowed him down during the contest.

If he manages to get his weight in order, Sulaiman thinks he still has what it takes to become world champion.

"From what I saw, he looked very heavy during the fight. I think the key lies in the attention he should have when he rehydrates after weighin. He can't gain too much weight because it slows him down, and he loses his effectiveness. I think Chavez Jr. has enough to come back and become world champion," Sulaiman said.
